It’s Beginning to Look Alot Like Madness

People think I’m joking when I say I’d rather be cooped up in a scenic countryside writing Hallmark Christmas movies. Or even sitting here writing about Hallmark Christmas movies.

But then I look towards Washington and the Media Wonderland and instead of snowfall and gingerbread, romance and carriage rides I see slithering creatures, hovering vultures, a midnight clear of compassion and no goodwill toward men.

And blanketing our nation’s Capital and our nation’s fabric a blizzard of acid and acrimony.

Snapshots of Insanity

Just a quick look at headlines provides a peek at the darkness and duplicity, the deviousness and double-standard.

MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski launches a vicious gay-themed assault on Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, insinuating he’s a sex plaything for the world’s dictators. Sure, she ends up apologizing for the gay reference. But the hatred is left to stand. After all Mike Pompeo works for Trump.

And what’s rule one? If they’re connected to Trump you can trash at will. Even if it’s, once again, young Barron Trump. (New York Magazine‘s Jonathan Chait mocked the 12-year old in a tweet this week, implying he’s a criminal.)

Remember Christine Blasey Ford? She accused Brett Kavanaugh of heinous sex crimes on national TV, without evidence, and when her story fell apart and Kavanaugh’s defense rang true to anyone with ears to hear, she vanished. She didn’t even counter his testimony. Just counted the money from GoFundMe.

However, suddenly Ford has re-emerged, doing a video presenting Sports Illustrated‘s Inspiration of the Year Award to Rachel Denhollander. Why? Is Ford a huge gymnastics fan? Yeah, right. She and Sports Illustrated had an agenda. Katie Pavlich picked up on it as well. Denhollander is honored for outing the long-term systematic sexual abuse of elite American gymnasts. Said Pavlich, “Sports Illustrated and Ford are linking Kavanaugh to convicted serial child sex abuser Larry Nasser.”

Who can forget the nauseating liberal meme during the confirmation hearings? Kavanaugh, hit with dubious and discredited allegations of drunken advances as a teen, was labeled a danger to the girls he coaches. (Just a couple weeks ago, a Washington Post article noting Justice Kavanaugh’s return to coaching girls basketball was tagged “public safety.” You know — wink-wink — Coach Kavanaugh is a public safety risk. Wink-Wink. Laugh about it over egg nog in Georgetown.)

Can anything be more vile? Now here is Ford coming out of the posh woodwork to say, symbolically, Kavanaugh is, indeed, a serious child sex abuser. Ms. Psychology Professor knows darn well what she’s doing. Equating herself to Denhollander is equating Kavanaugh to Nasser. Pavlich calls Ford “shameful.” That’s polite. I call it “demonic.” The work of The Accuser.

Protecting Their Own in the Poison Pit

So who arranged the appearance? The democratic operatives who orchestrated the hit job on Kavanaugh?

You remember the hit job? You remember Sen. Dianne Feinstein holding Ford’s allegations until it could do the most damage?

Well, Feinstein herself is back in the news, or at least the news that cares about Deep State machinations. She is asking a court to give leniency to a former Intelligence Committee staffer caught leaking sensitive and damaging information to the media, then lying to the FBI about it. And here’s where we get deeper into the poison pit.

James Wolfe leaked to his mistress, reporter Ali Watkins, stories about Trump campaign associate Carter Page. Leaking Carter Page’s name gave the media the ammo to blow Page up into some nefarious Russian spy. To pour gasoline onto the “Russia Collusion” fire. And by “fire” I mean “plot.”

And guess who else is asking that this betrayer of national secrets and the rights of fellow citizens be given leniency? None other than James Clapper, a key figure in the Russia plot who’s been scoring big bucks from CNN spinning tales of Trump duplicity. If only the  former Director of National Intelligence had put as much effort into destroying ISIS as he does destroying Trump maybe tens of thousands of lives could have been saved. But I digress.

When will justice be served? When will the danger to our system of government be acknowledged?

Recall if you will the testimony of former FBI director James Comey. Clapper had suggested to him in January 2017 that he not tell President-elect Donald Trump anything about the Russian investigation but the salacious, unproven, nonsensical stuff in the Steele Dossier. Comey knew CNN had the dossier story (and knew it was garbage), but was looking for a news angle to run with it.

Well, Comey’s rear end no sooner left Trump’s sight when the story of Comey briefing Trump about the dossier was leaked. Sara Carter reported the leak was Clapper’s doing. Trump was set-up. CNN (which has rewarded Clapper handsomely) had their news hook and the Russia Collusion story suddenly became all the rage. Operative word being “rage.”

Oh, but that’s so last year, all. Really?

Just the other day, Comey said this: “I can tell you that all of us should use every breath we have to make sure the lying stops on January 20, 2021.”

Former CIA director John Brennan, another central figure in the Russia operation against Trump, said:

And yet when I tell you Comey and Brennan used their positions in a deliberate effort to sabotage the Trump presidency I’m called a “conspiracy theorist.” Fine. Where We Go One, We Go All.

Now, the funny thing is, last week we learned Deputy Attorney General Rob Rosenstein and then-acting FBI director Andrew McCabe launched a secret obstruction of justice investigation against Trump as a way to “rein in” Trump. It was during those “rein in” discussions that Rosenstein suggested wearing a wire when speaking to Trump. He claims it was sarcastic. A joke.

But is it a joke when Federal officials use the power of their office, empower a special counsel, not to uncover a crime but to block the duly elected President of the United States? No. Again, shout the obvious from the hilltops — fill the sky with facts — and you’re the one called crazy.

I feel like Charlie Brown on his school stage yelling, “Doesn’t anybody here know the true meaning of seditious conspiracy?!”

The Threat.

What else have we learned? Tuesday we discovered that McCabe advised former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn not to bother having attorneys present when his agents came to pay a visit. It was Comey’s idea. One he boasts they “wouldn’t have gotten away with” in earlier administrations. One of those agents would be Peter “Insurance Plan” Strzok. McCabe apparently also instructed Strzok not to give a standard reminder of the penalties for lying to the FBI.

Flynn thought he was among allies, not agents carrying out McCabe’s mission of destruction. Remember what McCabe told his cohorts in an FBI briefing? “First we f*** Flynn, then we f*** Trump.”

When will justice be served? When will the danger to our system of government be acknowledged?

And the danger is not just to our system. Think again about what Brennan said. What’s it really mean when a spooky, unhinged top CIA spook says with such confidence “you’ll never have the opportunity to run for public office again”?

If you are not praying for the safety of the President, today’s a good day to start.

The Looming War

In a matter of weeks, Democrats take control of the House and their mission can’t be made any clearer. Impeach Trump.

The President says if the Democrats try to remove him “people would revolt.”

Nah, that won’t happen, the Washington Post says, in a tone suggesting, “Go for it, you restless radical resisters!”

I beg to differ. And here we again look to the revealing words of James “Nobody’s Homey” Comey. (Thank you, Sir Patrick Mack for that nickname.)

Comey says he doesn’t favor impeachment because doing so would let “the country off the hook.”

Do you see the implication? The problem is not that Donald Trump committed any crimes. Even Strzok knows there’s no there there. Trump is not the problem. The problem is the American people. They elected Trump.

We, the People, are the ones who have to be held to account, who can’t be “let off the hook.” We — the ones you could smell at Wal-Mart, the ones who cling to our guns and religion, the ones who are deplorable, the ones who have the audacity to ask for equal justice, the ones insisting our leaders honor us more than reward those who break our laws — we are the problem.

And here’s where the Washington Post misses the mark. We, the People get that “Removing Trump” isn’t about Trump. It’s about overthrowing the person We, The People, elected. It’s about overthrowing us.

Ask the British how well rejecting the will and voice of the American people worked out.

Christmas

This Christmas comes with dire flags rising. The forces are winding up for a knock-out blow. Like Herod’s troops on the march toward Bethlehem, they are eyeballing the slaughter of this two year old presidency and that which this nation has always held dear.

We know how bloody that turned out. I fear Rachel will again weep for her children.

Yet within that same prophetic scripture in Jeremiah we find encouragement and a hope for the season.

Hear this all who retain faith in our founding principles, who ascribe to one nation under God with liberty and justice for all, who made their voices known in 2016 and are daily bombarded with efforts to silence that voice. Those who toil daily to make America — and the lives of their neighbors and families — greater each day:

“‘Restrain your voice from weeping and your eyes from tears, for your work will be rewarded,’ declares the Lord.” (Jeremiah 31:15-16)

As John F. Kennedy once said, “We are not here to curse the darkness, but to light the candle that can guide us through that darkness to a safe and sane future.” Amen to that.

Now, about those Hallmark movies …
