If You’re Praying Like This, Stop! (It’s Witchcraft)

After reading this headline, some of you might be thinking right now, “WHAT? Witchcraft prayers?!? What are you talking about?”

In this 13-minute video, Hungry Gen Pastor Vlad Savchuk explains (with scriptural support!) that yes, there are soulish prayers or other ways to go about it that align more with witchcraft than with the kind of faith-filled prayer that God is looking for. For instance:

1. Stop treating prayer like magic. There are no chants or rituals that unlock the door to Heaven. Prayer is relational, not ritualistic.
2. Stop treating people like mediators. We have direct access to God through the Holy Spirit. We don’t need another human–past or present–to mediate on our behalf.
3. Stop using prayer to selfishly force God to do what you want Him to do. He’s God, not a genie granting wishes.
4. Stop praying invective prayers of revenge and harm for your enemies. Those are actually curses. (David may have prayed this way, but Jesus did not.)
5. Stop consulting other spirits that aren’t the Holy Spirit and signs, or trusting spiritual objects that aren’t God’s Word. That’s literally witchcraft.
