Identical Twins Saved From Abortion Wednesday After Mom Saw Ultrasound of Her Babies

They were scared. The pregnancy test was positive. The young couple from Texas immediately calculated how many weeks along the mom-to-be was. Fourteen. Because of Texas’ new law that prohibits abortion after a heartbeat is heard, they knew they’d have to drive to Louisiana for the abortion. They scheduled the procedure.

But before they drove to Louisiana, the couple decided to get an ultrasound. They went to a Pre-Born! partner pregnancy center Wednesday. The father refused to go inside, but the mom bravely went. The ultrasound showed two babies β€” identical twins! Mom called Dad. “Come inside NOW!” she told him. She was elated. When Dad arrived and saw his babies on the ultrasound screen, he began to cry. The babies were sucking on each other’s toes!

Dad was a believer, he told the clinic. But he was afraid. A male volunteer told him about the resources that are available and encouraged him.

The Pre-Born! center will help provide maternity clothes, doctor referrals and help with housing if needed. They will also go into the delivery room if Mom wants. “We walk with her through the entire pregnancy” and beyond, Pre-Born! founder and president, Dan Steiner, told The Stream. After the pregnancy, Pre-Born! provides moms with cribs, diapers, car seats, baby food and whatever else they need. “So, there’s robust support for the woman once she chooses life.”

Pre-Born! Centers Save Lives

Pre-Born! has 70 locations across the country in the highest abortion cities: Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Metro, New Jersey, and Washington, D.C.

Pro-Born! provides ultrasound machines to their partner pregnancy clinics. They also provide evangelism and leadership training to those working at the pregnancy centers. “We are an hour-by-hour competitor with Planned Parenthood on the internet where these girls are searching for abortions on their phone,” said Dan. “So, we reach them on the internet. We invite them to our clinics and try to get them to make an appointment for our clinics. We also can service them online through telehealth virtual clinic. So, we’ve got a pretty strong outreach there.”

Once a mom-to-be sees her baby on the ultrasound, she is much more likely to choose life. “Eighty percent of the time she’ll choose life if she encounters her baby on ultrasound.” Those who wish to support the pro-life movement can sponsor an ultrasound session for pregnant women. “So, it’s a real easy way to be doing something positive about the issue of abortion. It saves lives.”
