He Speaks American
For all his wealth and power, Donald Trump is still strikingly a guy from Queens. He speaks in American.
As the great Yogi Berra once exclaimed, it’s déjà vu all over again.
Demonstrating the enormous depth and breadth of the Trump earthquake is easily observable in the ruling class’s reaction to it, on both the left and the right. The road from 2016 to here has been harrowing because the dangers for the elite ruling class in the US and worldwide are immense. Losing control of the steering wheel of power in the “new world order” endangers them politically, legally, and economically.
Perhaps no election since 1984 has provided such resounding clarity. This is despite the all-out war launched against Donald Trump. The ruling class, using its proxies in the FBI, intelligence community, and the legacy media, launched a coup against him before his 2016 election in a stunning collaboration that is now all in the public domain — not that you’d know that from their shameless pretense that it’s all a “conspiracy theory.”
They fought him tooth and nail for his entire first term — including the farcical impeachments — and engineered his defeat in an extremely dubious election made more questionable by the 8 million fewer votes received by Kamala Harris than President Biden’s record-breaking 82 million votes in 2020, which also far outpaced even Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.
They tried (and continue to attempt) to financially crush and jail the former and future president through a series of federal and state charges that are uniformly laughable (one required the New York Legislature to change an existing statute even to file it!) if you read them without Trump’s name being mentioned. All were adjudicated in stanch Democratic jurisdictions.
Still Vicious After All These Years
During the 2024 campaign, Trump was shot in Butler, Pennsylvania, in a case that still has far more questions than answers and reeks of incompetence at best or – God forbid – a deliberate setup to kill him that was engineered by Deep State operatives. Shortly afterward, he was within a tee of being shot by a waiting gunman at his own Florida golf course. The alleged shooter has obvious ties to the US government based on his international activities and funding. Yet, there seems to be very little curiosity in pursuing the obvious in either case.
Make no mistake – the forces arrayed against the new Trump administration will be no less ferocious this time around than they were the first.
Every word and step he and his team make is already being second-guessed and criticized out of hand. And the corporate media pack of jackals are working the political Serengeti, looking to take down a few of the inner circle – early “kills” to show Trump they have teeth. The attacks have already been vicious, cobbled together with absolute lies and half-truths, with no pretense of objectivity nor even basic decency.
This is how you know putting “America First” has found legs – again.
The Losers Never Lose
There are more self-serving autopsies on the election than bikinis at spring break in Florida. Mostly, they are from folks who were telling the world with glib assurance before the election that not only was Donald J. Trump doomed to a devastating defeat, but that the Republican Party would be left in shambles as a result of his quixotic campaign.
And it wasn’t just liberal commentators (whom one must forgive because they’re always wrong). There was also a slew of pseudo-conservatives and Republican house pets for the big papers and cable outlets, prophesying that all was lost because of the toxic Trump and his brash style. A handful of religious pundits remained squeamish about Trump’s fallen “moral” life – and yet seem fine with a woman who rather publicly slept her way into high office and a sitting president who has a long history of sexual peccadilloes, plagiarism, and graft that were mostly ignored despite all being well substantiated.
In truth, most of the commentators and pontificators have long-established records of being wrong on virtually everything – the culture, public policy, and politics. But they are never embarrassed nor do they lose a dime by being consistently wrong, just as the “ruling class” politicians never lose their pensions for gross incompetence. Nor do our top business leaders lose stock options for doing a lousy job. Nor do our top religious figures lose positions for emptying their churches and synagogues.
And therein is a dirty little secret of the “ruling class” that has driven the United States culturally and economically into the jagged rocks. Meritocracy, responsibility, and personal virtue have largely been replaced by a collectively fashionable social “conscience” based on emotionalism and a juvenile form of doctrinaire socialism dressed up as serious intellectualism, capped off with a virulent rejection of the Judeo-Christian ethos of the last two centuries. The left was captured in this orbit long ago and has a foothold even on the right.
Bull in the China Shop
Then along comes a guy from … Queens. He’s blunt, brazen, and outspoken. For all his wealth and power, he is still strikingly a guy from Queens. He speaks in American.
He talks about Americans believing in winning again. He describes the self-evident; we have a lot of really stupid, greedy, and self-indulgent people running – and feasting off – the government and our major institutions. He proclaims that they have stopped believing in our nation’s exceptionalism and have a misplaced sense of responsibility and duty to everyone but our nation and its citizens. He is clear: We have allowed crony capitalism and massive socialist programs to grow like kudzu on the economy, and have been telling hardworking Americans this is the new normal.
It has to stop, he says passionately.
Most of his supporters realize that he may not accomplish everything he has set his mind to, so they remain gun-shy despite his remarkable track record as a previous president. However, the furious, out-of-control reaction to Donald J. Trump’s reelection validates why citizens voted for him — which may be his biggest advantage in his new term.
So, while the “ruling class” is in total revolt and incoherent, vicious hysteria, a lot of Americans are smiling to themselves. They’ve been reminded: We’re Americans — proud, hardworking, and hardheaded. Donald Trump’s good ear hears them loud and clear.
