Golfer Zach Johnson Praises God After Open Championship Win

Today, golfer Zach Johnson won the Open Championship at St Andrews, the home of golf. In an emotional interview just moments after winning, Johnson fought back tears while praising God.

“I felt great,” he said “I felt patient. I had some scripture going in my head, and I thank the Lord, I thank my friends and I thank my family.”

Later, he said, “I was reading bits of scripture to myself, things like Psalm 24, Verse 7. I’ve been reading them all week. I thank God for the talent he has given me and I take it seriously.”

Psalm 24:7 reads:

Lift up your heads, O you gates!

And be lifted up, you everlasting doors!

And the King of glory shall come in.
