‘We Have to Get Rid of ISIS,’ Trump Says to CIA

“We have to get rid of ISIS,” President Donald Trump said Saturday to an applauding crowd of about 400 intelligence officials at the CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia. The newly inaugurated president’s visit was an attempt to reassure the agency that “I am so behind you,” the Associated Press reported.

During his remarks, Trump reiterated the promise he made during his inaugural address to “eradicate completely” radical Islamic terrorism. Trump went on to say that the United States has previously been “restrained” in its fight against the terrorist group. “We have not used the real abilities that we have,” he said.

“This is a level of evil we haven’t seen,” Trump said. “And you’re going to go to it and you’re going to do a phenomenal job. But we’re going to end it.”

While the President has received some criticism for his CIA meeting β€” particularly for making comments about the media while standing in front of the CIA’s Memorial Wall honoring the gents who have fallen in the line of duty β€” Trump expressed his pleasure with the visit in a tweet early Sunday morning.
