Franklin Graham Asks Christians to Pray for the President June 2: ‘The Only Hope’

By The Stream Published on May 29, 2019

Franklin Graham, along with over 250 Christian leaders, asked Christians to pray for President Trump on Sunday, June 2.

“President Trump’s enemies continue to try everything to destroy him, his family, and the presidency,” Graham, the son of evangelist Billy Graham, posted on Facebook. “In the history of our country, no president has been attacked as he has. I believe the only hope for him, and this nation, is God.”

Graham asked believers to pray that God to “protect, strengthen, encourage, and guide the President.” He reminded Christians that the Bible tells them to pray for those in authority, ‘that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior’ (1 Timothy 2:2-3).”

Graham encouraged people to repost his message on all social media. He concluded by reminding believers of the real enemy: “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12).”

Please pray with us for President Trump on the Special Day of Prayer Sunday, June 2.
