Fox News’ Shannon Bream’s Tweet for Dying Boy’s Wish Goes Viral and Avengers Respond

Fox News reporter Shannon Bream has come to the aid of a dying boy whose wish is to meet one of the Avengers.

Bream’s Twitter post on Sunday night about the boy’s request was retweeted over 25,000 times.

“Need your help Twitterverse — trying to help a young boy who is dying,” she wrote. “He probably has just days and all he want[s] is a greeting from one of the Avengers. If you have a celeb connection, please let me know. Otherwise, could you help out with a RT?  Thank you in advance!”

The only information she shared is that the boy’s name is Emilio.

Avengers Chris Evans, Ryan Reynolds and Paul Bettany responded to her call for help.

“Thank you, EVERYONE!” Bream later tweeted. “Major progress as been made because of you. A special assist is coming in from @jaketapper. I guess Twitter can be full of love when someone really needs it.”

Those Avengers aren’t the only superheroes to do something super. When Aaron Hunter, another terminally ill child, tweeted a video pleading to meet Iron Man, Robert Downey, Jr. FaceTimed him.

Downey now supports Aaron’s charity.

Aaron’s mom thanked Downey on Facebook for his help. “This memory will never leave us, it has been magical. We have never seen Aaron this happy until now. His big heart is full of HOPE!”

Update: The child whose wish prompted Shannon Bream’s request has passed away. In a Twitter post, Bream wrote: “Twitterverse, young Emilio has lost his fight. Thank you to the thousands who pitched in so that he could hear from some of his heroes in his last days. You lit up his hospital room and blessed his family. Emilio’s simple request launched an avalanche of goodness and miracles.”

Please pray for Emilio’s family as they grieve his loss.
