A Naples, Florida, church will host the inaugural Youth Pride Conference, featuring a drag show and other events for LGBTQ young people, Fox News reported Monday.

GLSEN Collier, a nonprofit that promotes LGBTQ ideology for children in K-12 grades, will put on the event at Naples United Church of Christ for young people ages 12-18. According to the event’s page, the event is for “youth seeking to explore LGBTQ-related issues they face today,” and will include “a drag show from some of our local drag queens.”

The event will also present sessions on mental health, gender dysphoria, “forbidden queer literature,” “inclusive sex education,” “intersectionality and prejudices within the community” and more.

Although the church will host the event, a sign-up form required attendees to acknowledge that the Youth Pride Conference is not affiliated with either the church or Collier County Public Schools.

On its website, Naples United Church of Christ describes itself as “a traditional church for progressive people.”

As a traditional church in terms of worship style, we are a progressive church in terms of openness to a wide theological spectrum and the wide variety of lifestyles and orientations in our culture that seek a welcoming and affirming Christian community.

The event will take place Saturday, May 21, at the church in Naples, Florida.
