Election Day Is Underway! Here’s the Latest …

By Al Perrotta Published on November 5, 2024

The polls are open, the campaigning is done, and Election 2024 now lies in the hands of “We, the People.”

Heavy turnout is already being reported in red areas in swing states, with lengthy lines forming long before polls even opened. Even Bucks County, Pennsylvania, which until a few weeks ago had more registered Democrats than Republicans, is jumping.

Will Kamala Harris be able to get out her vote?

A Prayer That Started on Election Day

Election Day began at midnight with a prayer and proclamation on the U.S. Capitol steps by Rev. Patrick Mahoney of the Christian Defense Coalition. His remarks included President Lincoln’s Proclamation of 1863.

“Whereas it is the duty of nations as well as of men to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon, and to recognize the sublime truth, announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord.”

“First in the Nation” Dixville, NH Splits Vote Between Trump and Harris

As is tradition, the teeny, tiny town of Dixville, New Hampshire gathered at the stroke of midnight to cast its votes. The so-called “First in the Nation” hamlet split its vote: 3 for Kamala Harris, 3 for Donald Trump. In 2020, Dixville cast all its votes for Joe Biden. In 2016, the town went 4-2 for Hillary Clinton.

Is this tie an omen for the day?

Trump Scores Major Last-Minute Endorsements from Joe Rogan, Megyn Kelly, and Libertarian Party of New Hampshire

Who had former Fox News host Megyn Kelly stumping hard for Trump on their 2024 dance card? No one. Yet last night, Kelly, who famously tangled with Trump during the 2016 primaries, joined him at his Pittsburgh rally and offered a roaring endorsement of him and devastating roast of Kamala Harris’s policies. She blamed Harris’s “deliberate” choice to open the border for the murder of Laken Riley and many other victims of criminals who’ve illegally immigrated under the Biden-Harris administration. The podcast host insist Trump is, indeed, a “protector of women.”

Trump also earned the last-minute endorsement of enormously popular podcast host Joe Rogan. Rogan credited Elon Musk with making the most convincing argument for Trump.

Also at the Pittsburgh rally, Trump was endorsed Roberto Clemente, Jr., son of the legendary Puerto Rico-born Pittsburgh Pirate and humanitarian Roberto Clemente. (So much for that joke about Puerto Rico by a comedian at Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally hurting his popularity among Puerto Ricans.)

The former president is also getting a surprise boost in New England from the Libertarian Party of New Hampshire. The Granite State was supposed to be solidly in Harris’s pocket, but has proven to be surprisingly competitive. “Endorsing Donald Trump is in the best interest of our ultimate goal: creating a free New Hampshire,” the endorsement reads. “We must make sure New Hampshire continues to repel progressives, socialists and communists, and leftists of all stripes.”

As for Trump himself, he finished a whirlwind day of campaigning long after midnight in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The final closing remarks of the final rally of his final campaign are here:

And he left the stage at 2:30 in the morning, dancing.

Staged: Harris Caught Staging Door Knocking

As for Harris, she went knocking on doors — you know, spontaneously going out to canvas the real people. The people were real, but the encounters were staged.

However, she did get to hang out with Lady Gaga and Katy Perry for a finale in Philadelphia. The event included Oprah Winfrey claiming that if elected, her old pal Donald Trump was going to end voting rights. “If we don’t show up tomorrow, it is entirely possible that we will not have the opportunity to ever cast a ballot again,” Winfrey said.

Harris’s final rally took place on the so-called “Rocky Steps” at the Philadelphia Art Museum — those famous steps Rocky Balboa sprinted up as he trained for his initial fight with Apollo Creed. The same Rocky who kept getting off the mat, no matter how bloodied and battered, as he continued to fight, fight, fight.

Beat the Cheat: Georgia

The Georgia Supreme Court has overturned a lower court’s ruling. As a result, Democrat-run Cobb County cannot count 3,000 absentee ballots that will arrive after today.

Beat the Cheat: Wisconsin

The Republican National Committee has sued election officials in Milwaukee over allegations the deep blue city was unlawfully limiting poll watchers in at least three polling centers, The Washington Examiner reports.

Beat the Cheat: Pennsylvania

Keeping Republicans from seeing what’s going on in Democrat-run swing state cities is par for the course.

The RNC reported this morning that poll watchers were being turned away in several Pennsylvania counties, including Philadelphia. Chairman Michael Whatley reports RNC lawyers quickly contacted local officials, and the poll watchers were immediately let into the building.

We are also seeing unconfirmed reports of scanner issues in Pennsylvania, particularly in red areas. Of course. Why do we have these electronic voting machines? To make voting easier and simpler for citizens, or to create problems and a way of manipulating the results?

Beat the Cheat: Arizona

Maricopa County, which has been the very definition of election corruption for the past several cycles, is at it again. Assistant County Manager Zach Schira is saying full election results might take days to announce. Podcast host Emerald Robinson, who will be doing a Zoom interview with The Stream’s John Zmirak in the next few days, put it succinctly: “It doesn’t take days and days and days to count ballots. It takes days and days and days to cheat.”

Beat the Cheat: Nevada

The same thing is happening in Nevada. NBC News is reporting that “Nevada will take a week to count all their votes.” Said Chuck Todd, “This is going to be lawyers upon lawyers litigating which (provisional) ballots can get fixed.”

Let’s translate: Democrats in the political machine of the late Harry Reid will keep digging up ballots out of the desert and insisting they be counted, and relying on friendly judges to allow them to get away with it. That’s why folks in Nevada have to vote in such overwhelming numbers that provisional and dubious ballots are rendered meaningless.
