(00:00) you know, given given the reality of your experiences and seeing how the dark side, the power of the supernatural realm, obviously God’s version is much more powerful and it’s very real. So, you know, how do you approach things now that you are a spirit filled believer, you know, and maturing in the calling and the gifting of God, the reality of the supernatural realm, the reality of even deliverance, you know, what did that past experience teach you about even what you teach today and how you encourage people that might feel like

(00:36) they’re possibly oppressed, uh, you know, and that there are demons, uh, and the whole reality of of the warfare. How do how have you packaged it and understood it now? Yeah, that’s a great question because you know as we grow and mature we grow in grace. The Bible says you know Peter that we should be growing in grace, grace to grace, glory to glory.

(00:59) And so our understanding should be uh I don’t want to use the term progressive in a sense of being misunderstood but it should develop. You know what I mean? It should uh it should mature. It should develop. It should evolve. Uh and and I’ll tell you for the first probably I don’t know two three four years I remember just crying out to God to experience heaven to experience angels to experience his glory because I didn’t have to like I could always see demonic stuff and I didn’t want to see that anymore. I wanted to see his glory.

(01:30) I wanted to see and I mean my conversion experience was definitely that but I wanted more you know I wanted to see angels and um I would I would kind of go into these times of prayer where I would desperately try to see angels and all of a sudden it just didn’t happen and I didn’t want to make anything up and so I took it as an understanding that okay well I guess I guess I have a gift of discernment where I can discern demonic stuff but now I’m asking the Lord to let me grow in you know the

(01:59) other direction. And so it was all the way fast forwarding to 2011. Um because I used to go I mean we’d wrangle demons in clubs. Like the thing is demons love attention and I didn’t really understand that early on. Like so it was you know I learned as I went on it it didn’t the less attention you you give the the the phenomenon of deliverance is in the sense of giving the demons place to speak and giving them a platform the better you know because they want that attention. And so by the time I got to

(02:30) 2011, I had been preaching the gospel 10 years. I’d been in full-time ministry about four years. Uh I remember I was I was preaching at a Presbyterian youth group in Alaska because we lived in Alaska as missionaries now. We were going into all the native villages and God did amazing things with that.

(02:48) Um, but I was I was lining up the the kids, you know, at the youth group and I was looking for demons in their eyes and the Lord spoke to me and said, “Have you have you looked for me in their eyes?” And I was like, “Whoa.” Because it’s the thing is when a demon manifests it’s easy to like if you’re a spirit filled believer and you’re like you’re charismatic or you’re you know you’re you’ve been around that before it’s easy to just start woo get pull out the lasso just go to town like start you

(03:19) know I mean but I felt like the Lord was saying I’m tired of that stealing my glory I want you to look for my son in people and so so I be so I changed the way I did things and I would go down the line and I would look in their eyes and I would say Jesus Christ is being made manifest in you.

(03:36) You’re being conformed to his image. I begin prophesying to them, speaking into them. And when I would do that, if there were a devil, although they would they pop out. That’s the thing is they would show up when I would do that. But um this one this one person in particular, it did happen that night and they did not want to be free.

(03:52) I mean, it was like three different voices talking to me. A male voice, a female voice, a ne a neutral voice talking to me. you know, didn’t want to be kept telling me, I don’t want to be free. I don’t want to be free. And um but the way that it was dealt with that night was different than the ways that I would deal with it in times past because I would seek out the the demons and I would like I got to torment those devils, you know, I got to but the Lord, it was unhealthy. You know what I mean?

(04:19) It was like an unhealthy The Lord wanted me to just see Jesus and Jesus alone. And the thing is, when Jesus is made manifest, demons have to come out. They have to. there is no room left for them. Um, and so I kind of adopted this this I would say theology of, you know, Jesus is manifest and the demons have to flee.

(04:42) Some people took that as devils just don’t exist anymore. And that’s not anything I’ve ever taught ever. I definitely don’t believe that because I think that’s a big- time deception. But giving the devil all this attention that he doesn’t deserve, you know, is it’s so unnecessary.

(05:00) And so I remember after that I was doing an evangelistic outreach in a supermarket. Yes. In a in the cafe of a supermarket. I was preaching in Alaska and this girl who was a witch, you know, I identify as a witch showed up. And normally before that, I would have just like went right to the witch and started asking who who are the devils in you and how many are there, you know? And uh my whole approach uh shifted and I went over to her and I was like, “Can I talk to you for a few minutes?” And we just sat down and I shared the gospel with her and I

(05:31) asked her about her family life and asked her if there’s anything I could pray for her. And and then as we started praying, she started feeling funny and she like ran out. But then the next time I was preaching, she showed up at the church where I was preaching and she’s like, “I’m ready now.

(05:48) ” You know, and Jesus was made manifest. She confessed him and the demons left. And it was like it wasn’t it didn’t have to be so much of a show. It didn’t it didn’t have to be uh and I have a whole teaching actually and I want to go into it now. But even in Bible times there was it was also a big show at times as well.

(06:06) I’ve talked to you about that on the phone a little bit. Um but the devil just kind of like how if you’ve ever heard this term narcissists hate when you starve them. You just starve them of it. You don’t give them any attention. the devil absolutely hates being starved of because he’s like the ultimate narcissist, right? The the devil hates being starved of attention.

(06:27) Um, and so it’s been it’s been a beautiful thing over time uh seeing people get free in unconventional ways in ways where Jesus literally where the Holy Spirit just comes and does what the Holy Spirit does best and then we just we just prepare the environment for that to take place. You know what I mean? Um, I can share another few stories with you too if you’d like. Yeah.

(06:51) No, that is such a powerful point, Rob, in terms of how to get rid of demons because I’ve often said this too. Traditionally, you know, the charismatic route is you got to rebuke them. You have to cast them out. There’s you can squeeze them out. You know, when you get the more of Jesus, you know, there’s just a point where the devils can’t even stay anymore.

(07:11) They they have no option. they have to leave. And I really think especially in this season that we’re in in the church, this this really is the call. We we need to, as you say, manifest Jesus, demonstrate the power of the kingdom. Demons are not going to stay in that kind of environment.

(07:28) And totally agree that they they like attention. We’ve been through enough deliverance experiences ourselves. Uh, so yeah, in terms of just mindset and and your heart, I just I love your heart, Rob, that this just shining through of so much wanting Jesus to be front and center, that he’s the one that deserves all the attention.

(07:48) And it really is it’s a truth encounter, too, because when you’re talking about getting someone set free from demonic oppression, it starts in the mind with with lies and and they have to have a revelation of truth. And that revelation when that revelation hits just like your own testimony, it was a it was flooded your spirit, you didn’t understand it.

(08:07) You wouldn’t have been able to put it into words. But it it was a a revelation to your spirit, right? That is what opened the door then, you know, for freedom. And so that that’s what I always pray for as well is that there would be a revelation of who Jesus is. That the truth would come. Yeah.

(08:24) Yeah, because once they made that connection, the enemy doesn’t have anything to hold on to because he’s the father of lies. That that’s his hook, the lies that he tells us. Once you have a revelation of the truth, he has nothing left to to hold on to. So, I love that. I think that’s great.

(08:39) And what she said is really important like about the stronghold first in the mind, you know, binding the strong man. Corinthians talks about how taking every thought like it’s the Holy Spirit’s what the Holy Spirit does best is taking every thought captive and leading it into the obedience of Christ, giving us the mind of Christ.

(08:55) You know what I mean? Uh but all the way back to the garden where the serpent came to Adam and Eve that was where the seed was planted was a thought in their mind. You know, God’s holding out on you. God didn’t give God’s God doesn’t want you to know that you can actually be more like him. He doesn’t want you to be you know this this lie that basically God is not good.

(09:14) Uh but he dealt with their minds first and then like St. Paul says that sin you know everything once it conceives it brings forth death you know. Um so it’s like this progressive journey. You meet people in that journey and you begin to reverse not by your own power obviously but just sharing the word of truth with them.

(09:34) it begins to reverse, you know, that that process because um you know, the the word roots up all those lies, you know, and so we’ve had and and the thing is you have to listen to the Holy Spirit in each situation because each situation is not going to be the same. You know, I’ve had in fact I’ll tell you like I had two two main stories I could think of right now that are just just phenomenal.

(09:57) you know, we it was announced that I was going to be, you know, sharing my story of coming out of the occult and all that and and it always is usually on flyers or whatever, but this one place, I think it was in Alaska, these Satanists or Satan worshippers, whatever they were, they showed up, black trench coats, pentagrams, you know, all this stuff.

(10:14) And they were standing at the back of the room the whole try time trying to curse the meeting. And I just I’m just going to move forward and just preach the gospel. I’m not really concerned. and I know that the Lord is going to deal with them, you know. So, I’m asking the Holy Spirit, hey, what do you want me to do? And I didn’t hear any anything like just keep preaching like okay.

(10:32) So, I’m just sharing. So, it comes time for where like the church or it wasn’t whatever the ministry was hosting it is receiving an offering, you know, for the expenses and all that because that’s the normal thing that believers do. We give and and we we fund the kingdom. And uh these Satan worshippers or whatever they were one by one came up.

(10:54) I’ve never seen this before. They were shaking. They ripped the pentagram off their neck and put it in the offering basket. All of them. Let me tell you what, Wanda, that’s the best offering I’ve ever seen a ministry get. Broken pentagrams, you know, but oh my goodness, they they got so hit by the power of God.

(11:14) And then afterward, it was just a matter of talking to them and praying with them to just confirm what they had already experienced. They they confessed the name of Jesus before I even got to them, you know. So, it didn’t it didn’t have to do with with me and with my gifting or anything like that, you know.

(11:29) Um, and then there was another situation where I was contacted ahead of time. Uh, I’m going to keep work hard to keep people anonymous, you know, just to protect them and their identity, but I was contacted ahead of time through our website by a witch and a Satanist. And they were like, you know, if we show up, would you be willing to talk with us? And I said, well, sure.

(11:51) So, they showed up at this uh church meeting that I was doing uh out on the West Coast and you know, so there’s this lady and then there’s this guy and he’s got long black hair like down to like his knees, like the longest hair I’ve ever seen, pentagram, you know, and this is just not too long ago. And so after the meeting was over and I finished praying for everybody, they were just standing there like this watching, you know, and afterward I went over and I was like, “How can I serve you guys? What’s up?” you know, and they

(12:17) said, “Will you come to a coffee shop with with us?” And I was like, “Sure.” So, I go to this coffee I meet them at a coffee shop that’s maybe 5 minutes away. And I sit for about 10 minutes of them just mocking my faith and mocking everything they saw at the church and mocking Jesus.

(12:40) And I’m just like, “Glad you’re entertained. You know, I’m just drinking my coffee. Okay? You know, we’ll get through this.” And so at the end of the 10 minutes, I was like, “Are you done?” They’re like, “Yeah.” And I’m like, “All right, so now let’s talk.” And I asked the Holy Spirit, you know, “What do you what do you want me to ask them?” And I just started to ask them questions about their life.

(12:57) And we end up walking and we’re walking down the sidewalk outside of this coffee shop. And you know, this girl who’s like a witch, she just starts manifesting something and shaking and getting really angry and getting really frustrated. And I was like, “What’s going on?” And she said, “My spirit guides don’t like you.

(13:13) They don’t like you. they don’t want me to talk to you. And I was like, well, I get that, but you’re going to have to tell. See, the thing is like when you’re in this long enough, you’re not you’re not phased by stuff anymore. And so I was like, you’re going to have to just tell your spirit guides that they have to submit to the Holy Spirit right now. Sorry for them.

(13:28) You know, that’s what I said. And and and so she said she would tell them. And then they bas she said that they basically said, “Okay, she has to listen to me and let me pray for her.” I was like, “Okay.” So, you know, and she hadn’t let a Christian pray for her like ever.

(13:46) And so, there was a lot of breakthrough. And there was more that I can’t really share. It was just really, really powerful. And the thing is that that demons, if they if they don’t get all that attention that they’re really seeking, then they know they have to shut up and just submit. They have to. There there’s no other option.
