Darkness Hates the Light
Why were the religion leaders of Jesus’s day often filled with indignation about Him? John 3:20 reminds us that “everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed”.
This is why the filling of the Spirit is so important: The strength on the inside must be stronger than the pressure on the outside. To truly contend for the faith in difficult times, you must be filled with the Spirit. To weaken your pursuit of sin, you must strengthen your pursuit of God.
