Kaine: ‘I Have No Way of Knowing’ Clinton’s Position on Borders and Trade. CNN’s Tapper: ‘Well, You Could Ask Her’

CNN’s Jake Tapper asked Democratic Vice President nominee and Virginia Senator Tim Kaine on Sunday morning about Friday’s release of emails by Wikileaks showing that party nominee Hillary Clinton has both public and private beliefs on various public policy matters, as outlined in paid speeches. Tapper specifically asked Kaine about whether Clinton supports “open borders.”

Kaine said that the emails themselves were suspect, since Wikileaks allegedly has ties to Russia. When asked again by Tapper on Clinton’s position, the Clinton surrogate said, “I have no way of knowing that.”

Tapper responded with: “Well, you could ask her.”
