A car drove into a group of people just before the start of a Mardi Gras parade Tuesday morning in Gulf Shores, Ala. A high school band was in the area of the crash.

According to a report by local news station WKRG, 12 band members were injured with four in critical condition. The driver is in custody, but officials do not believe the driver had criminal intentions. Officials do not know whether drugs or alcohol were involved, WKRG reported.

β€œA teenage band has just started to march down the parade route when they were struck from behind. The vehicle was a part of the parade,” Grant Brown, a spokesperson for the city of Gulf Shores, told WKRG.

Gulf Shores police asked people to come forward if they have photo or video footage of the incident. City officials held a press conference after the incident on Tuesday morning. Watch the video here.

Around 30 people were injured Saturday after a car drove through a Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans, the Associated Press reported. The driver in that incident was accused of intoxication.
