Bruce “Caitlyn” Jenner is suffering “sex-change regret” and has considered transitioning back into life as a man, according to an author of a new book on the Kardashian family dynasty.

Meanwhile, Jenner’s rep is denying the report. “Not worth commenting on such an idiotic report,” the rep told the New York Daily News. “Of course it’s not true.” The Daily News also points out that on the reality show I Am Cait, Jenner expressed an interest in dating men.

Author Ian Halperin, however told The Wrap that multiple sources close to the Olympic champion-turned-reality star told him that Jenner “has been miserable for months.”

“One source confirmed to me Caitlyn has made whispers of ‘sex-change regret,’ hinting that she might go back to being Bruce Jenner,” Halperin said. One friend told Halperin that living as a woman has “been very hard.”

“She’s thrilled she’s raised awareness about how transgender people have long been discriminated against, but I think there’s a chance she’d de-transition in the next couple of years,” Halperin quotes the friend as saying. “I don’t think it would surprise anybody in her inner circle.”

If so, there were signs of it as far back as the interview accompanying the Vanity Fair cover shot of Jenner. There the Olympic gold medal decathlete recounted the moments of regret after undergoing a transitional surgery. “What did I just do?” Jenner recalled thinking, “What did I just do to myself?”

In his new book Kardashian Dynasty: The Controversial Rise of America’s Royal Family, Halperin tells how Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner tried to keep her now ex-husband from transitioning in the first place, attempting to save their marriage through attending church and even religious conversion therapy.

Her effort failed and the couple divorced. However, according to one of Halperin’s sources, Jenner still has an eye for the ladies. “She’s still into women and wants to meet the right one,” the friend said.

Thus far, Jenner’s Twitter account is silent on Halperin’s claims. Jenner has made news in recent days for using the women’s restroom at Trump Tower and for reportedly planning to pose nude for Sports Illustrated.
