David Deavel

David Deavel < Back to Voices

David Deavel  (Ph.D., Fordham University, theology) is interim editor of Logos: A Journal of Catholic Thought and Culture and teaches in the department of Catholic Studies at the University of St. Thomas (MN). He is the 2013 winner of the Acton Institute’s Novak Award and currently serves as the vice president of the Newman Association of America.  His writing has appeared in  a variety of academic, public, and popular outlets including American Catholic Philosophical Quarterly, Books & Culture, Catholic World Report, Chesterton Review, Christian Century, Commonweal, Crisis, First Things, Homiletic & Pastoral Review, Journal of Markets and Morality, Library of Law & Liberty, Minneapolis Star-Tribune, National Review, New Blackfriars, Society, Touchstone, and others.  He and his wife, Catherine, live in St. Paul, Minnesota, with their seven children.
