An Afternoon Brew: FBI Finds ‘Scant Evidence’ of Insurrection Plot as Late Night Crowns a New King

And we say goodbye to one of the founding fathers of rock-n-roll.

Happy Monday!

You ready for a second serving of the Brew?

And it starts with a piping hot story you may have missed.

Another Media Myth Destroyed: FBI Says There Was No Planned “Insurrection” on January 6

There was no planned insurrection on January 6. That’s what the FBI is saying, according to a new exclusive story by US News & World Report. Not exactly right-wing news organization.

Despite a massive, desperate investigation, the FBI found “scant evidence” anyone came to Washington, DC, planning to overthrow the government. There was no coordinated effort. (Well, except maybe the ANTIFA types who’d spent all of 2020 making war against the federal government.)

The best the FBI’s got — despite the Biden administration, Democrat, MSM and Big Tech obsessive effort to paint Trump supporters as domestic terrorists and insurrectionists — is that a few people in right wing groups planned to get inside the U.S. Capitol Building. And … and well, that seems to be it.

Now, given that Capitol police were opening doors to the public, even the planning turns into a nothingburger. “Oh, they’re letting us in anyway?”

Add to that Revolver’s June report indicating FBI informants or agents may have been goading the members of those right-wing groups into action, and you are truly left with a phantom threat.

But look at the cost of having created a bogeyman.

As a result of Biden, the Democrats and their media/Big Tech allies insisting there had been an “insurrection,” hundreds of people were rounded up and charged, held in solitary confinement, their civil and constitutional rights shredded. Countless numbers were tossed off Twitter. Many people lost their jobs simply for being in DC that day.

And 75 million people were branded.

It is no exaggeration to say that one reason the Biden Administration was caught so off guard in Afghanistan is because of their single-minded focus on the phony “domestic threat” posed by MAGA Nation. Don’t believe me? Ask Gen. Mark Willey why he was trying to understand the non-existent “white rage” behind January 6, rather than bothering to pay attention to what was happening in Afghanistan on his watch.

And thanks to the insurrection lie, our National Guard spent far more effort surrounding and protecting the fiction-makers on Capitol Hill after January 6 than Biden’s generals did preparing to protect Americans and our allies in Afghanistan.

AZ Audit Draft Report Scheduled to Be Delivered Today

The “January 6 Insurrection” is another myth for the books. Like Trump-Russia collusion, the Russian bounty story, the Charlottesville “Fine People on Both Sides” hoax, and “COVID came from the Wuhan Wet Market.”

The irony? There would have been no trouble January 6 had the same people who spread all those myths not also crafted the myth of a legitimate election.

Today, we move one step closer to the truth. The long-awaited Arizona Audit draft report is scheduled to be delivered today to the Arizona State Senate. How long before we see it? CNN says the Senate review could take days or weeks. CNN, of course, calls it a “sham.” But, well, see above …

And what happens if the audit offers indisputable proof that Trump won Arizona? And won big? And laws were broken? And the fraud was sophisticated and coordinated? Won’t that be fun to watch.

Pelosi, Schumer Party as Rome Burns

Sure, the destruction to America’s reputation thanks to Afghan debacle has been incalculable. The calamities facing the nation growing by the hour.

But at least Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer got to enjoy a great, maskless fundraiser in Napa Valley over the weekend. And well, yeah, there are Americans trapped by the Taliban still in harm’s way, but how often do you get to dance with late night host Stephen Colbert?

Then again, perhaps Colbert needed some cheering up. Because …

Greg Gutfeld of Fox News is the New King of Late Night

Greg Gutfeld’s Gutfeld! is now the top-rated late night show. He’s beating The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. He’s beating ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel. And according to the latest ratings, he’s now overtaken Stephen Colbert’s Late Show on CBS.

In fact, last Tuesday, Gutfeld drew a full 220,000 more viewers than Colbert.

Imagine Hollywood’s humiliation. A guy from Fox News is beating them at their own game. But they have their own selves to blame. By treating half of America with contempt, and getting so partisan, bitter and boring, they left the field wide open. And the merry little Gutfeld stormed right through.

Congratulations, Gutfeld!

When You Are Woke You Are Never Happy: Pride Flag Edition

Seems the rainbow-colored “Pride” flag is just not inclusive enough. It literally has every main color in the spectrum on it. But the full spectrum’s not good enough. No sir. Or ma’am. Or whatever you’re identifying with at the moment.

CNN reports there’s now a push to replace or redesign the Pride flag to be more “inclusive of the transgender community and people of color.”

Farewell, Don Everly, and Thanks

We’ve lost one of the last pioneers of rock-n-roll. Don Everly of the Everly Brothers passed away Saturday at the age of 84. Along with his brother Phil, Don had a monumental string of hits in the ‘50s and early ‘60s, that were not only wildly popular, but hugely influential on the rock and pop music to come.

From their haunting, masterful ballads like “All I Have to Do is Dream” to rollicking rock-n-roll classics like “Bye Bye Love” and “Wake Up Little Suzie,” the Everly Brothers truly earned their place as charter members of the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame.

Don and Phil, who’d been performing together since they were children, had their difficulties. In fact, they went a decade without even speaking. But in 1983 they reunited, with their stunning harmonies somehow even richer and more beautiful than in their heyday.

And they still knew how to rock-n-roll!

Have a blessed, and rockin’, rest of your day!
