A Savior is Born

By The Stream Published on December 25, 2018

It came upon a midnight clear,
The song of heavenly choirs.
To shepherds watching o’er a field
A tale of glory divine.

What message they got from heaven above
When the Lord’s angel appeared.
“Behold I proclaim Good News to you,
And great joy to all mankind.”

“In the city of David, a babe does lay
Wrapped in cloth, surrounded by hay.
A Savior is born, Messiah the Lord
In Bethlehem, not far from here.”

Then did come a heavenly host
And praising the Lord, proclaimed
“Glory to God in the highest,” they sang
“And peace on earth t’wards men.”

For this night there was born,
In a manger quite well worn,
Hope.
The Savior of the world.
