A New Declaration for America From 1776 Unites

“How do we proceed today as Black Americans? As Americans in general? By remembering our history — one of triumph, struggle and resilience — and confronting our present, honestly. The American Dream is closer than ever before. We can move forward: with renewal, grace, vision and unity.”

1776 Unites, a special project of The Woodson Center, today launched a new video entitled, “A New Declaration,” in honor of Independence Day. The video recognizes and affirms the experience and resilience of the Black community within the full American story. Watch the full video above.
