Justice or Injustice? Daniel Penny’s Acquittal vs. Luigi Mangione’s Crime

By The Stream Published on December 20, 2024

Earlier this week, The Stream brought you the fascinating testimony of former mob boss Michael Franzese. What you may not know is that he also has a podcast, in which he delivers fascinating insights on everything from current events, crime and punishment, and arts and entertainment. (In addition to formerly being involved in the Mafia, Franzese also was involved in the movie production industry — and he now has a line of nonalcoholic wines, so don’t be offended by the bottles on the table next to him).

In this 26-minute episode, Franzese discusses not only the injustice of New York City subway hero Daniel Penny being prosecuted for the accidental death of the armed gunman with a history of violent crime, but also the groundswell of support for accused murderer Luigi Mangione — bringing to it the kind of flavor that only someone with his experience in both crime, justice, and New York City can.
