2 NYPD Officers Shot in the Bronx, Suspect Dead
Two New York police officers were shot Friday afternoon in the Bronx, CBS New York reports. One officer was shot in the head, the other in the leg. Both were taken to the hospital, where New York Mayor Bill de Blasio is reportedly headed to meet them.
The New York Daily News reports that the officer shot in the head is in serious condition, and the officer shot in the leg is expected to survive.
PIX 11 reported that the officers were responding to a robbery and became engaged in a shootout with an armed individual. The “heavily-armed” suspect was identified as Manuel Rosales, according to theĀ Daily News, and was killed.
