Winter Storm Jonas Bringing Peak Impacts to East Coast Today; Blizzard Warnings From D.C. to NYC

Winter Storm Jonas is unleashing its peak impacts on the mid-Atlantic and Northeast Saturday morning with dangerous blizzard or near-blizzard conditions ongoing across the region. Snowfall rates of up to 2 inches per hour have been observed early Saturday morning in both the Washington, D.C. and New York City areas. The combination of strong winds and heavy snow will continue to create life-threatening whiteout conditions for anyone attempting to travel on Saturday.

Blizzard warnings remain in effect for more than 33 million people from northern Virginia to southern Connecticut, including Washington D.C.BaltimorePhiladelphia, and New York City.
