Trump to Pope Francis: ‘ISIS Wants to Get You’

Donald Trump isn’t fond of Pope Francis’s critiques of capitalism, and said he wouldn’t be shy about throwing down the gauntlet if they ever did discuss the matter.

In a televised interview that aired Wednesday night, CNN’s Chris Cuomo asked the Republican presidential candidate about what he would do if a hypothetical meeting with the pope turned to the subject of capitalism – and if the pope waved his finger at Mr. Trump and said capitalism is an avenue to greed and corruption.

Mr. Trump, a billionaire who is known for speaking off the cuff, said he’d respond to the pope with a dire warning: “I’d say ISIS wants to get you.  You know that ISIS wants to go in and take over the Vatican?” Mr. Trump said, referring to the militants also known as Islamic State. “You know, that’s a dream of theirs to go into Italy.”
