Ted Cruz: There’s ‘Not a More Stunning Indictment’ of Obama’s Presidency Than This Statement on Fight Against Islamic State

By Published on November 17, 2015

Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (Texas) explained Monday what he believed to be the reason behind President Barack Obama’s unwillingness to lead in the fight against the Islamic State.

While discussing the issue during an interview with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, Cruz labeled Obama’s non-action as a “profound indictment” of his ideology.

“You know, a lot of people are confused,” Cruz said. “Why would a president not want America to lead? Why would a president not want America to win?”

The two were discussing a news article posted Monday at the liberal news site Talking Points Memo. The article urged its readers to “ignore the freakout” over comments Obama made during Monday’s G-20 summit in Turkey, where the president said he is not interested in pursuing an “America winning” strategy against the Islamic State.

Cruz continued, saying that to understand Obama you first have to understand the “radical” he is, which is a product of being molded by Harvard Law School, according to Cruz.

“And I have described President Obama as the perfect Harvard Law School president,” Cruz said. “And I don’t mean that as a compliment.”
