Storm Collapses Circus Tent in New Hampshire, 2 Dead and Many Injured
Two people were killed and 15 were rushed to area hospitals early Monday evening when a circus tent collapsed at the Lancaster fairgrounds during a fierce thunderstorm, authorities said.
State Fire Marshal J. William Degnan said the victims were “a young gentleman” and “a young girl.”
Degnan said approximately 100 people were in the tent, in which the Walker Brothers International Circus of Sarasota, Fla., was set to perform the first of two shows. The tent collapsed at 5:46 p.m., he said.
