A snowstorm expected to slam New Hampshire’s coastal region could effect the results of Tuesday’s Republican primary vote in the Granite State.

According to New Hampshire’s ABC affiliate WMUR, the state should gear up for a nor’easter, which could bring with it more than 8 inches of snow by the end of the day Monday, potentially “linger[ing] into primary Tuesday” and putting a serious crimp on voting.

The weather is not expected to have much of an effect on the Democratic primary, as aggregate polling by Real Clear Politics shows Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders leads former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton by 10 and 20 percentage points.

While polls suggest real estate mogul turned GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump — whose lead in the state is 20 points — may come away with a victory, the second place spot is still very much up for grabs.

Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz and John Kasich are all tightly bunched, fighting for second place finish. Nevertheless, the University of Massachusetts Lowell noted some possible surprises in Tuesday’s vote, thanks in part to the snowy weather.

“New Hampshire voters are known for delivering surprises and with snow forecast into tomorrow, the tracking poll looks at two possible scenarios for the outcome based on voter turnout,” the school noted.

UMass’s report continued: “In the event of snow and low voter turnout, Sanders still leads Clinton 55 percent to 40 percent; and Trump, Rubio and Kasich gain support while Bush loses ground, but Trump still leads by 22 percent. In the event of a primary with high turnout, Sanders’ lead grows to 57 percent over 39 percent support for Clinton and on the Republican side, Trump’s lead stays at 22 percent.”

GOP consultant and Bush supporter Ron Kaufman told The Hill he believes the snow will help candidates who worked on the ground following the primary. The snowstorm will help some and hurt others, Kaufman said.

“Trump will under-achieve, Rubio will under-achieve, Cruz will under-achieve,” Kaufman predicted, adding, “The three governors will over-achieve; the question is by how much.”

Global warming alarmists have gone on record suggesting the snowstorms that pounded the east coast in January were a result of a nor’easter brought on by man-made global warming.

“These storms are made worse by global warming enhanced sea surface temperatures,” Greg Landen, a biological anthropologist and global warming alarmist, wrote at Science Blogs.

He added: “So, yes, this is a global warming enhanced storm that earns an extra merit badge for having a bit of extra energy from El Nino.”
