After yet another Texas police department was attacked with gunfire Saturday night, one police chief had something to say about the violence against cops.

Authorities say someone opened fire on the San Antonio police headquarters Saturday night but no one was hurt. Cops found shell casings nearby and bullet marks on the wall of the police headquarters, a chilling event just days after a gunman fatally shot five Dallas police officers, WFAA reports.

San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said the timing was “too coincidental” but made sure everyone knows his cops will not become targets.

“It’s been shot at before, but not in close relationship with anything like what’s happened in Dallas, and we are not going to be targets,” McManus said. “We are not going to allow our officers to be targets. This is not open season on police officers here in San Antonio or anywhere else. We’re not going to allow that to happen.”

McManus also said this has happened before.

“It’s alarming right now,” McManus said. “It’s not the first time our building has been shot at, but it’s too coincidental that it’s around the time that officers are being threatened around the country.”

Before the Saturday shooting, the San Antonio Police Department shared their condolences with the Dallas police department on Facebook.

“5 Officers have lost their lives, many others were critically injured,” the post reads. “A HERO remembered never dies… Our hearts go out to the officers, their families and the Dallas community who have been affected by this horrific attack. This tragedy hits close to home and this is a sobering reminder to our officers that they must constantly remain vigilant. We must continue to work together as a community to ensure that we are all protected.”
