Pro-Lifers See Victories Despite Challenges by the Abortion Lobby

By Students for Life of America Published on March 12, 2022

As anticipation grows for the Dobbs v. Jackson Supreme Court decision coming later this year, both sides of the abortion issue are ramping up. The abortion lobby prefers to play dirty, attempting to silence pro-life speech, spreading misinformation, and infiltrating schools with vulnerable students. In contrast, the pro-life movement is taking the high road and seeing real results on both the state and federal level. With legislation victories and record-breaking pro-life action like never before, preparations for a Post-Roe America are well on their way.

The Abortion Industry Tries to Shut Up Pro-Life Activist

In the Lone Star State, a pro-life case is at the Texas Supreme Court right now, and it concerns freedom of speech. Mark Dickson, founder of Sanctuary Cities for the Unborn, has been sued by members of the abortion lobby for “defamation.” This for giving details about the horrors perpetuated by the abortion industry. While this case is seriously ironic (the abortion lobby is mad someone’s pointing out their sins), it is also a serious matter concerning a constitutional right.

Illinois Wants to Dispense Abortions Like Candy

A bill in the Illinois state legislature would require public universities and colleges to carry the Plan B drug in at least one of their vending machines on campus. This would make a potential abortifacient as easily accessible as a candy bar. Beyond potentially killing a preborn child, Plan B also has serious risks for mothers, including increasing the risk of life-threatening ectopic pregnancies. Both of these reasons are enough not to require public schools to encourage the use of this potentially life-ending, dangerous drug.

A New Myth About Chemical Abortion

Plan B isn’t the only drug being pushed at women. Chemical Abortion pills are the new wind beneath the abortion lobby’s wings. A pervasive myth suggests that these life-ending pills are safer than Tylenol. (Except, you know, that they kill babies.) Much data is still missing on how these drugs affect mothers due to intentional misinformation and the lack of a national abortion reporting law. Abortion Supporters Storm and Interrupt Worship Service

In California, a shocking video recently showed a Catholic Mass interrupted by abortion supporters donning Handmaid’s Tale costumes. The protesters disrupted the service, to yell and brandish signs, and refused to leave until they were escorted out by the security team. After mocking the pastor, the abortion supporters began to bully a pro-life activist directly outside the cathedral.

Too Bad, So Sad: The Women’s Health Endangerment Act Failed

The Women’s Health “Protection” Act recently died in the United States Senate after being passed in the House, and the pro-life movement is overjoyed. Students for Life Action lobbied hard against this piece of legislation that was even more radical than Roe v. Wade, and through determined efforts, this bill crashed and burned. It would have essentially repealed every pro-life law in 50 states.

The Pro-Life Movement Is Breaking Records

In new estimations by the rabidly pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute, more than 475 abortion restrictions have been introduced in the United States just in 2022. As we’re barely into the third month of the year, that number showcases the determination of the pro-life movement to get states prepared to support life — which becomes even more crucial if Roe v. Wade is reversed with the Dobbs v. Jackson case. Click here to learn more about how states are preparing for a Post-Roe America.
