Montage: CNBC’s John Harwood Debates GOP Presidential Candidates

The emerging consensus from Wednesday night’s CNBC debate is that the moderators were rude. John Harwood in particular distinguished himself by not just asking tough questions, but asking them in the most insulting possible way — interrupting candidates mid-reply, offering his own editorializing, and shouting down candidates attempting to defend themselves. Chris Christie seemed to capture the mood of the candidates and the crowd when — angry at Harwood’s hectoring — he finally said “even in New Jersey what you’re doing is rude.” If you missed the debate, here’s a quick highlight reel of Harwood at his most combative.
