An F/A-18E Super Hornet launches from the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson on Jan. 8 as the ship conducts flight operations in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, which targets ISIS terrorists.  Carl Vinson is currently deployed to the area supporting maritime security operations, including strike operations in Iraq and Syria as directed.
