Military Photo of the Day: Feb. 15, 2015

By The Editors Published on February 15, 2015

U.S. Army Pvt. Kaitlin Haines says farewell to Cak, her military working dog who passed away recently, during a memorial ceremony on Feb. 9, 2015, at Miesau Chapel in Germany.

It’s important to remember that thousands of dogs serve in the U.S. military. During the course of combat operations in Afghanistan and Iraq, dogs have uncovered enemy bombs, weapons caches and improvised explosive devices and saved countless American, Afghan and Iraqi lives. We salute Cak and send our deepest condolences to Pvt. Haines and the entire 100th Military Working Dog Detachment.
