Back home again — Brig. General Robert C. Oliver, Chief of Staff of the 13th Air Force, welcomes Lt. Stanley J. Hillock, injured pilot of an Army Air Force Vultee L-5 liaison aircraft that crashed near the Umiray River in the San Angelo Mountains near Manila, Philippines on April 7, 1947. The rescue was made by helicopter on April 19, thirteen days after the accident occurred. The helicopter brought him to the gates of the 10th General Hospital at Fort McKinley.
