‘Migrant Hunter’ Arrested In Bulgaria for Capturing 23 Illegals

By Published on April 9, 2016

The infamous migrant hunter from Bulgaria was recently arrested when he captured 23 Afghanis who entered the country illegally.

Dinko Valev and his citizen militia Organization for Protection of Bulgarians (OZBG) patrol Bulgaria’s borders to Turkey looking for refugees who try to sneak in illegally. When the group apprehended 23 Afghans and took their passports, border patrol arrested OZBG members, but let the Afghans go.

“They checked our documents, while they ignored the migrants,” an OZBG member said Wednesday of the Bulgarian border patrol, according to The Express UK.  “They did not ask the illegal immigrants for their documents or search them for weapons.”

Valev, 29, is a semi-professional wrestler who started the militia after a migrant tried to steal his quad bike. He has since dedicated his life to patrolling the borders with his friends, and it eventually turned into a 50-man strong militia.”Bulgaria needs people like me, dignified Bulgarians, willing to defend their homeland,” Valev said in a recent interview with BBC.

Valev quickly became a hero among Bulgarians after a series of arrests. He estimates that 95 percent of Bulgarians support his activities.

People demonstrated outside the police station when he was taken in for questioning in March. He’s accused of several crimes related to his migrant hunting activities, including assault and battery, making death threats, unlawful detention, inciting ethnic hatred and inciting ethnic violence.
