Marchers Protest in Chicago After Video Released of Police Shooting Suspect

Protesters began to gather at State and Jackson Tuesday evening after the news conference by Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Chicago Police Supt. Garry McCarthy about the murder of 17-year-old Laquan McDonald.

Chicago Police Officer Jason Van Dyke was charged Tuesday with murder in the first degree in the fatal shooting of McDonald.

After marching south on State Street to Roosevelt and State, the protesters headed for Michigan Avenue, where they turned north after police blocked them from heading east toward Lake Shore Drive.
