Man Found With Aborted Baby Parts in His Car Gets a Mere Slap on the Wrist

By Published on December 11, 2017

Police found 14 containers of aborted baby parts and stolen drugs in a man’s car, but he was fined less than $800 for the crime in court last week.

Abortion doctor Michael Arthur Roth received a meager $798 fine and 18 months probation in a Macomb County Circuit Court Thursday, according to LifeNews.

Roth’s sentence comes after police found more than a dozen aborted baby parts in his car and drugs that he stole from his employer upon their investigation of his vehicle in 2015, after he’d had an accident. Roth first got in trouble for drug violations in 2002, then violated patient consent laws in 2004, and was accused of performing illegal late-term abortions and falsifying medical records to cover it up.

Roth was also fined $15,000 in 2004 for stealing drugs and well abortion equipment so that he could perform illegal abortions at his home. After authorities caught Roth performing botched abortions in 2012, he was ordered six months probation and another $15,000 fine for violating Michigan’s Public Health Code. Following a 2015 raid of his home, Roth was charged with six counts of identity theft, three counts of larceny, and one count of illegal drug possession.

“It’s outrageous that a man with a long record of violations can get off with so little for three felony convictions,” Right to Life of Michigan President Barbara Listing told LifeNews. “We hope Roth will receive sentences that fit his crimes moving forward. He should never practice medicine again, anywhere.”

Listing went on to explain that abortionists with long records don’t receive the public scrutiny they deserve. “Roth is not an outlier, but the face of the abortion industry in Michigan and nationally,” Listing said.

Operation Rescue President Troy Newman also noted in 2016 that until Roth receives adequate punishment, he will continue to violate the law.

“Abortionists like Roth are trained by the slow and lax disciplinary process to be re-offenders. They soon come to realize that they will never suffer serious consequences for their actions,” Newman said.
