A Seminary man claims that a sign from God was left on his lawn on Christmas Eve.

Eric Pendleton said he was driving home when he saw a rainbow.

“I said, ‘That looks like it is touching my driveway,”’ Pendleton said.

When he got home, he said he saw a dark shape in his yard.

“When I took a closer look, it looked like an angel holding a baby,” Pendleton said.

Pendleton said this could only be a sign from God because of a family struggle that he and a Hattiesburg pastor had recently prayed over.

“Our daughter has been trying to have a baby. She has had several miscarriages, and our family has been praying for her to have a baby,” Pendleton said.

Pendleton said he took his daughter to Teddy Cranford, a pastor at West Rock Church in Hattiesburg for him to pray over her.

“Every woman this pastor has prayed over have had babies,” said Pendleton.

Pendleton said the shape of an angel holding a baby in his yard is a sign from God himself.

“We think this is God’s way of saying he is going to give my daughter a baby,” Pendleton said.

Pendleton also said he thinks the rainbow leading him to the spot in his yard was also a sign.

“A baby born after a miscarriage is called a rainbow baby,” said Pendleton.

Pendleton said his daughter isn’t pregnant right now, but their family’s faith in God, and the signs in their yard give them hope.
