Landslide Miraculously Stops Just Before Crushing Italian Church
A landslide miraculously stopped just short of crushing a historic 16th-century Italian church in northern Italy.
The Santuario di Gallivaggio church in the Valle Spluga narrowly escaped getting crushed by a humongous landslide, the Daily Mail reported. The 420-year-old church was built in 1598 located in the commune San Giacomo Filippo near the border of Switzerland, ABC News added.
The church was still swarmed with huge dust clouds as the May 29 landslide deposited approximately 176,573 cubic feet of material off the cliff.

“As a believer I say that the provident hand of God accompanied this event which could have ended tragically,” Parish priest Don Andrea Caelli told Avvenire. The church was built on the site where two girls claimed they saw the Virgin Mary in 1492.
Despite no one getting seriously injured, the entire Italian town is currently evacuated as authorities continue to monitor the situation.
