The Kremlin is Not Enthused With Trump’s Barking Hillary, Judo Fighting Putin Ad

By Published on March 17, 2016

Donald Trump’s recent ad featuring a judo-ing Vladimir Putin and barking Hillary Clinton has been viewed well over two million times, and has caught the attention of the Kremlin, which said the ad unfairly demonizes Russia.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Russia’s TASS news agency that the government was disappointed with the clip of a gi-clad Putin throwing an opponent to the ground, a tradition he says is all too common in U.S. electoral campaigns.

“It is common knowledge that demonization of Russia — let me put it this way — and everything related with it is regrettably a mandatory attribute of the U.S. election campaign,” said Peskov. “We always regret this. We would like election processes to proceed without such allusions to our country.”

The 15-second ad begins with large block text which reads “when it comes to facing our opponents” and then cuts away to Putin performing a judo toss and a clip from an Islamic State propaganda video. Another group of block text appears saying “the Democrats have the perfect answer” and cuts to a clip of Hillary Clinton barking at a campaign event. The video closes with Putin giving a chuckle, followed by Trump’s slogan “make America great again.” You can watch the entire ad below.
