Kanye West Threatens the Democratic Party’s Hold on Black Americans

It turns out that it’s black votes that count more to black and white politicians than black well-being, black academic excellence, and black lives.

In the aftermath of the Kanye West dust-up, my heart goes out to the white people who control the Democratic Party.

My pity stems from the hip-hop megastar’s November announcement to his packed concert audience that he did not vote in the presidential election but if he had, he would have voted for Donald Trump.

Then, on April 21, West took to his Twitter account, which has 28 million followers, to announce, “I love the way Candace Owens thinks.” Owens is Turning Point USA’s director of urban engagement and has said that former President Barack Obama caused “damage” to race relations in the United States during his two terms in office.

West’s support for Trump, along with his criticism of the “plantation” mentality of the Democratic Party, has been met with vicious backlash from the left. In one song, West raps, “See, that’s the problem with this damn nation. All blacks gotta be Democrats. Man, we ain’t made it off the plantation.” Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., said West “talks out of turn” and advised, “He should think twice about politics — and maybe not have so much to say.”

The bottom-line sin that West has committed is questioning the hegemony of the Democratic Party among black Americans. The backlash has been so bad that West had to hire personal security to protect him against threats made against his life. Fortunately, the police are investigating those threats.

West is not saying anything different from what Thomas Sowell, Larry Elder, Jason Riley, I, and other black libertarians/conservatives have been saying for decades.

In fact, West has tweeted quotations from Sowell, such as “Socialism in general has a record of failure so blatant that only an intellectual could ignore or evade it” and “The most basic question is not what is best but who shall decide what is best.” Tweeting those Sowell quotations represents the highest order of blasphemy in the eyes of leftists.

The big difference between black libertarians/conservatives and West is that he has 28 million Twitter followers and a huge audience of listeners, whereas few blacks have even heard of libertarian/conservative blacks outside of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. (I might add in passing that Sowell is one of the nation’s most distinguished and accomplished scholars alive today.)

The West problem for the Democratic Party is that if the party doesn’t keep blacks in line and it loses even 20 to 25 percent of the black vote, it can kiss any hope of winning any presidential and many congressional elections goodbye.

Democrats may have already seen that threat. That’s why they support illegal immigration and voting rights for noncitizens. Immigrants from south of the border who are here illegally may be seen as either a replacement for or a guarantee against the disaster of losing the black vote.

Keeping blacks blind to the folly of unquestioned support for the Democratic Party by keeping blacks fearful, angry, and resentful and painting the Republican Party as racist is vital. Democrats never want blacks to seriously ask questions about what the party has done for them.

Here are some facts. The nation’s most troublesome and dangerous cities — Indianapolis, Stockton, Oakland, Milwaukee, Cleveland, Kansas City, Baltimore, Memphis, St. Louis, and Detroit — have been run by Democrats, often black Democrats, for nearly a half-century. These and other Democratic-run cities are where blacks suffer the highest murder rates and their youngsters attend the poorest-performing and most unsafe schools.

Democrats could never afford for a large number of black people to observe, “We’ve been putting you in charge of our cities for decades. We even put a black Democrat in the White House. And what has it meant for us? Plus, the president you told us to hate has our unemployment rate near a record low.”

It turns out that it’s black votes that count more to black and white politicians than black well-being, black academic excellence, and black lives. As for black politicians and civil rights leaders, if they’re going to sell their people down the river to keep Democrats in power, they ought to demand a higher price.

    once again, Williams writes an article demigoding blacks. One day it will be nice to see you write something positive about the black community. But it looks like that isn’t what Stream hired you for.

    In any event, how desperate are conservatives that they believe Kanye West has that strong of a presence in the black community. Most blacks see him as talented but clearly off and on his meds. This same person, that you believe represents black america, looks at slavery as a choice. The next time you write an article on him, maybe you should mention that.

    Also, we have plenty of blacks to look up to ranging from Obama, to Lebron, to Curry, to Donald Glover to Chadwick Boseman, to CEOs Ken Chenault, Ursula Burns, Roger Ferguson, and Kenneth Frazier. We will gladly give conservatives Kanye.

    Also, the next time you write an article you can think about the fact that there are more Nazi’s and white supremacist running for office as republicans than blacks running for office as republicans. Clearly at least democrats need African-american votes. All republicans really care about is that we don’t vote. You don’t care what we think or even try to recruit us to run.

    So keep Kanye, keep Diamond and Silk, they seem to represent what conservatives are looking for!

      To quote a portion of Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Boxer”, “a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest”.

      • Concerned Christian

        now that is a true statement.

    • Ken Abbott

      What is it to “demigod” someone or a group of someones?

      Also, I don’t think Walter Williams was hired to write for this site. The article’s copyright is from another site called “The Daily Signal” and Dr. Williams teaches at GWU.

      • Concerned Christian

        my point about Williams is that he only talks poorly about the black community. I would love to see him write something positive.

        The same goes for Stream. There are positive things happening in the black community.

        • Ken Abbott

          Is the black community monolithic? Williams mentioned with great favor black libertarians/conservatives such as Sowell, Riley, Elder, and Thomas. How about Candace Owens?

          I know several persons within my own sphere of acquaintance who speak similarly to these men and women, professionals and blue-collar workers.

          • Concerned Christian

            By black community I’m talking about the lives of everyday blacks. i.e.

            –the number of blacks that are now enrolled in college.
            –The fact that the employment rate is dropping outside of trying to give trump credit for something that was occurring before he took office.

            Here’s something that he could report on:

            BLACKS IN THE U.S. GAINING WEALTH AND EDUCATION FASTER THAN OTHER GROUPS
            http://www(dot)blackenterprise(dot)com/blacks-in-the-u-s-gaining-wealth-and-education-faster-than-other-groups/

            The blacks that you around are no different then most whites and other blacks. Everyone likes to focus on the negative. However, I do think that we have been conditioned to trash our community in ways that other groups have not. Do your black friends speak in terms of all blacks while your white friends speak in terms of liberals?

            Part of that has been just to fit in. But ask them about their own personal experiences and you might get a different perspective. Also, most blacks don’t completely open up to whites, just to keep the relationship from getting awkward.

            Finally, Sowell, Riley, Elder, Thomas and Owens all do the same thing. They are writing/speaking to a white audience while talking down to the black audience! You’ll notice that they only tell the specific negative things that liberals have done while never speaking of anything positive that conservatives have done. Their overarching goal seems to be persuading whites that blacks are ignorant while at the same time trying to dissuade blacks from voting period. They don’t care if blacks vote for conservatives, just don’t vote period.

            Where was Williams when this occurred?

            Sowell, Riley, Elder, and Thomas. How about Candace Owens?

            imagine the article he would have written had a democrat said that about Obama?

          • Ken Abbott

            Um, have you ever read anything by Thomas Sowell? You’d have a hard time backing up those statements if you had.

            As far as more positive articles appearing on this site, take it up directly with the people that run it. I recently saw a program regarding Gabby Douglas and her efforts to promote gymnastics programs for disadvantaged athletes. Evidently she’s become a real role model for young black women interested in the sport. Material like that makes good and edifying reading.

          • Ryan

            Black people who learn how to think outside the plantation are always criticized by those who haven’t.

          • Concerned Christian

            Even that line is an insult. What’s funny is that a white liberal gets to say that about a black conservative and a white conservative gets to say that about a black liberal.

            That comes across as whites saying a black person can’t think so we’ll just make them feel good by saying the other guy is the slave.

            Neither side seems to have much respect for the thinking of a black conservative or a black liberal.

          • Ryan

            Respect is something earned, not by the color of one’s skin, but by the way one conducts oneself while living in his or her skin. In case you don’t know, color is superficial. Poke yourself and you bleed the same color I do, and if that blood is the same type, we could save one or the others life with a transfusion. Organ donors have saved others lives and you know what? they could easily be of different skin color.
            You call yourself a Concerned Christian, I believe Christ didn’t care what color a persons skin is, it is the soul He is concerned about.
            If you didn’t show so much concern about the color of skin, you could get along with just about anyone on these boards. I liked Thomas Sowell long before I knew he was black, liking him didn’t change after I found he was black, his skin color didn’t change my mind about him, he is a good man.
            There are several Black writers in the world today that I share the same philosophy with, you see, brain cells are all the same color. Do we print white letters on white paper? how about black letters on black paper?
            We write black letters on white paper or white letters on black paper. We don’t argue about the color of the letters or paper we use to express things on, so why is there always an argument about skin color being brought up? If there is a willingness to communicate, why is color an issue?
            Respect is an earned thing, I don’t care what color a person is.

          • Concerned Christian

            “Respect is something earned, not by the color of one’s skin”

            Yes, that sounds like the thinking of a conservative.

            The question is how do you treat the people that you don’t respect?

            Over the last month:

            –Blacks, not causing any issues, were asked to leave Starbucks
            –Cops were called on four middle age black ladies playing golf
            –Cops were called on a black female sleeping in the common area at Yale
            –Another unarmed black man was killed in Sacramento by the cops
            –white woman sees a black man inspecting a house and calls the cops.
            –White Woman Calls Cops on Black Family for Having BBQ in Park for not saying Hello

            Now you can respect the fact that these are real issues of concern for blacks or simply disrespect the perspective that some blacks have.

            I’m pretty sure you agree with Sowell, tell me anything he’s ever written that puts blacks in a positive light as a group? Not just some individual black conservative that happens to agree with him.

            So yes you continue to be color blind. It works for you. I respect that. Your world is not my world. It’s up to you whether or not I’ve earned your respect!

            You are the one that brought up “plantation”. No matter how you swing it, you’re showing disrespect to all blacks not just to the ones that haven’t earned your respect.

          • NellieIrene

            Just in the interest of clarification:

            Starbucks. Starbucks HAD a policy that you must buy something to use their facilities or sit in their establishment. The men in question were waiting for a friend, had not bought anything and then wanted to use the restroom. They were told of the policy. When they were asked to leave they refused. Should the cops have been called. I don’t think so. If it had been me instead of them, I would have left when the employees asked me to. It’s their business. Their rules. And I can assure you from personal experience, blacks aren’t the only ones who have been asked to comply with this rule.

            Lady golfers. The golf course has a policy actually noted on their score cards about the pace of play. The women were holding other golfers up and were asked to pick up the pace or leave. They refused and got upset, and LOUD words were exchanged. Hence the call to police. They were not the first group this golf course had asked to leave because of pace of play.

            The Yale incident. Very strange. But apparently the woman who contacted the police suffers from mental illness and had called the police on other individuals in the past.

            Unarmed black man: Who had been breaking car windows. It was night and very dark. After initially running away from police, he turned around and started walking toward them with something in his hand that was pointed at them. It turned out to be a cell phone. But the police thought it was a gun. He would be dead if he had been white under the same circumstances.

            White woman calls cops on black family. They had set up a charcoal grill in an area of the park where charcoal grills aren’t allowed. Should she have called the cops? No. She was a busy body.

            Starbucks CEO

            “Our practices and training led to a bad outcome — the basis for the call to the Philadelphia police department was wrong,” Johnson said in a statement Saturday.”

            Lady golfers – From the Owners of the Gold Course:

            ““We sincerely apologize to the women for making them feel uncomfortable here at Grandview, that is not our intention in any way,” she told the newspaper. “We want all of our members to feel valued and that they can come out here and have a great time, play golf and enjoy the experience.””

            Unarmed black man: – “He would be dead if he had been white under the same circumstances.”

            Really, any examples? I know that a white man went into a church and killed 9 people. The police took him to Burger King afterwards and he is still alive.

            A kid goes into a school and kills 17 and he is still alive.

            For all of the incidents mentioned, have you heard of the cops being called on someone at Starbucks, on a golf course, a sleeping student, at a park having a peaceful BBQ? I’m talking ever? Yet this has occurred to blacks over a period of less than 6 months.

            I understand your point of clarification. However, we’re the ones that never seem to get the benefit of the doubt.

          • NellieIrene

            Of course they apologized. They want to calm ruffled feathers so it doesn’t hurt their bottom line. That doesn’t change the facts of the cases. The facts which you left out of your spiel.

            If you want examples of cops shooting unarmed whites just open a browser and type it. You will find many examples. Including a case that happened last December in Arizona.

            Dylan Roof, who is sitting on death row right now, was not “taken to Burger King”. He was brought a burger from Burger King because he said he hadn’t eaten in a couple of days when the police had begun their interrogation. Are you seriously going to contend that the police have never brought food or beverages to blacks who have been taken into custody?

            Most mass killers, whether black or white, commit suicide. Or they die in gun battles with the police. Those that survive, whether black or white, do so because they surrender. Or they survive the gun battle.

            White people have the cops called on them all the time for refusing to leave premises after being asked to do so, or raising a loud ruckus. And busy bodies are a thorn in the side of everybody. Keep your eyes open. You seem to be so much in the thrall of the notion that there is a war on blacks in this country, that you’re not seeing what is happening to others. I’ve been asked to leave an establishment when I hadn’t bought anything. I left. EVERYTHING is about race to a certain percentage of the black population. If you are looking for racism, you’re going to find it. Even when things happen that aren’t racially motivated at all. Like the examples you gave.

          • Concerned Christian

            “EVERYTHING is about race to a certain percentage of the black population.”

            when is it ever about race for a certain percentage of the white population?

            “If you are looking for racism, you’re going to find it. Even when things happen that aren’t racially motivated at all. Like the examples you gave.”

            If you choose not to look at race you will find that as well. You want to take these stories in a vacuum but that’s not where they exist. They make up a large number of the black experience. Ask the black men that you know about their encounters with the police. Either they or someone they know has more than likely had a negative experience. I’m talking about just routine traffic stops. Black drivers are 31 percent more likely to be pulled over than white ones. I’m sure you can find a legitimate reason for that. But I can’t.

            Look at Trayvon Martin, do you think that a majority of black men couldn’t see that happening to their own sons? I live in an upscale neighborhood and I stopped allowing my son to walk our dog at night. Do you think that for a large number of black men that we haven’t been harassed at stores for simply standing too long. I was lost in Dothan Alabama late one night and stopped in a convenience store to ask for directions. The cop look at me like he was just waiting to shoot me. I calmly got the directions and left.
            I have witnessed the cops harassing some blackboys saying that they just wanted to talk to them for no reason other than the black boys were walking down the street. The cops looked over at me and my wife and left the boys alone.

            The list could go and on. These stories resonate because for unlike a large number of whites, they hit home, they are not just random stories in the news.

          • NellieIrene

            “When is it ever about race…for the white population”

            I believe you are skirting the issue. I’m saying there is a perception on the part of some blacks that something is racist when more often then not, it isn’t. Perception of racism isn’t the same thing as actual racism. In a movie, Sidney Poitier says to his father in the film: “You see yourself as a black man. I see myself as a man.” Perhaps if that certain segment of the black community tried to see themselves in a similar vein, they wouldn’t see every little incident that happens or that doesn’t go the way they like as being motivated by the fact that they’re black.

            You are the one who took the stories you told “in a vacuum”. You act as if the only people that these things happen to are blacks. And. as I said in my previous response, that just isn’t true. As to encounters with the police, the advent of body cams is beginning to yield some surprising benefits to police. There are a growing segment of the black community who have complained about being racially targeted and treated with disdain and lo and behold, the footage shows the cop couldn’t have been more pleasant. Again, why lie about racially motivated incidents, if it is SO prevalent.

            Trayvon Martin isn’t a good example. He got shot on top of a hispanic member of a neighborhood watch patrol while Trayvon was slamming his head onto a sidewalk.

            With all due respect, your son has more to fear from other black men then he does from the police or the white community. As a matter of sad fact, there is more black on white crime, then the reverse. The rest of your paragraph, again, has to do with your perceptions. “The cop look at me like he was just waiting to shoot me”. He probably looked at you the way he looks at everybody. But you’re black. He was white. And a cop. Clearly a racist. Right? That in itself is bigoted thinking.

            Does racism exist? Absolutely. I’m sorry but the examples you give isn’t it.

            What about Charlottesville, Va or Dylan Roof?

            What actually is racism to you? Are these racist incidents? if so, is it because people were killed? Do we have to go that far before we can look at the fact that race may be playing a part in these incidents?

            “There are a growing segment of the black community who have complained about being racially targeted and treated with disdain and lo and behold, the footage shows the cop couldn’t have been more pleasant.”
            ====================================================
            Amazingly for the shootings those same body cams rarely seem to work.

            “Trayvon Martin isn’t a good example. He got shot on top of a hispanic member of a neighborhood watch patrol while Trayvon was slamming his head onto a sidewalk.”
            ====================================================
            Trayvon is the perfect example. A black kid walking alone at night minding his own business. Zimmerman follows him after being told by the cops not to do so. Of course it’s difficult to imagine why a young man would be scared that somebody is following him, white, black or other.

            Of course we only have zimmerman’s account of what happened since he killed trayvon. Of course you can feel sorry for zimmerman for getting his head slammed in the pavement by someone he wasn’t suppose to have engaged with in the first place. Zimmerman has been arrested multiple times since. Including multiple assault charges on women. He was just arrested again a few weeks ago for doing what he does best, stalking.

            But of course, Trayvon clearly was the one in the wrong. Trayvon is, unfortunately, a great example.

            “With all due respect, your son has more to fear from other black men then he does from the police or the white community. ”
            ====================================================
            Guess what, a white person has more to fear from other whites, an hispanic from other hispanics, and a muslim from other muslims. That’s how crime works. It’s normally perpetrated on those closes to you.
            Also, contrary to popular belief not all blacks live in war zones. We live in the same communities, in the same social economic status as everyone else.

            “As a matter of sad fact, there is more black on white crime, then the reverse. ”
            ====================================================
            In 2013, latest numbers I could find, there were 500 killings by blacks against whites. For whites it was 229. So the idea that there is some level of mass targeting by blacks against whites is ridiculous. Again, the perpetuator of a crime will most likely look just like you.

            “The rest of your paragraph, again, has to do with your perceptions. “The cop look at me like he was just waiting to shoot me”. He probably looked at you the way he looks at everybody. But you’re black. He was white. And a cop. Clearly a racist. Right? That in itself is bigoted thinking.”
            ====================================================
            Wow, that is funny. Nothing that I say can be considered racist. Not what I read, not what I’ve experienced, and not what others have shared with me. You can’t even give me the benefit of the doubt. Even when the clerk tells me “hey boy you are a long ways from home”. Of course I took that the wrong way.

            “Does racism exist? Absolutely. I’m sorry but the examples you give isn’t it.”
            =============================================================================================

            Well I gave you some additional examples at the start of this thread. It will be interesting to see what exactly meets your threshold.

            I’ve noticed that people who shoot down your examples of racism, can rarely provide any of their own?

          • NellieIrene

            “Do these incidents qualify as racist?”: Since you took the time to collect these examples, I made sure to read as much as possible on each one.

            1) Aaron Schlossberg: Yes. He is clearly anti-hispanic and, strangely, an anti-semite to those Jews that he feels aren’t authentically Jewish. He does not, however, have a history of racist rants against blacks that I could find.

            2 and 3 are stories about the same man. James Jackson. Yes. He specifically stated his crime was racially motivated.

            4. Anthony Hammond. Yes. He was yelling racist slurs when he stabbed the man in the shoulder.

            5) Daniel Rowe. Yes. He is a self-described Neo-Nazi with a White Power tattoo. His attack was clearly racially motivated.

            6 and 7) Todd Shaw. Racist? It was a private Facebook exchange by the assistant chief with a potential Hispanic recruit. He says many things, not just racial things, that are clearly disturbing. But they were also clearly a joke. But a very disgusting one.

            8) Chad Copley. Not enough info to declare it was racially motivated. Just based on info I read, he was angry people were on his property. Would he have been angry if they had been white. I don’t know.

            9) No. They used white men’s mug shots for target practice as well. It’s hard to find that info because it doesn’t fit the “racist” narrative.

            Dylan Roof stated his rampage was racially motivated. I have not denied that it was.

            Most of the examples above qualify as racism. Being told to leave a Starbucks because you haven’t bought anything, or being “watched” in a store or young black boys being told to move along if their loitering on a street, do not. There are generally reasons why these things are done and the reasons, MOST of the time have nothing to do with racism.

            Yes. Body cams are a boon to both sides on this issue.

            I don’t feel sorry for Trayvon or Zimmerman. Zimmerman should have backed off. It doesn’t change the fact that, on that night, he saw a stranger in his neighborhood. That made Trayvon a person of interest. Trayvon wasn’t “scared”. He was mad. And he wound up dead as a result. He should have kept walking. He was almost at his destination.

            I quoted the reality of crime because you seem to feel your son is in such mortal danger from cops and white folks. that you won’t let him walk the dog at night. It was just a reminder of WHO is most likely to do your son harm.

            To summarize our conversation as I am ending it here. Everything that you mentioned happens to white people too. They get murdered by blacks simply for being white. They get followed in stores. They get asked to leave Starbucks. They have busy bodies call the cops on them. Blacks write racist rants on Facebook and hurl racist slurs at whites too. We are ALL broken. One race isn’t more broken then the other. And no race has a corner on suffering. We all endure it.

            This comment about Trayvon says it all:

            “That made Trayvon a person of interest. Trayvon wasn’t “scared”. He was mad. And he wound up dead as a result. He should have kept walking. He was almost at his destination.”

            This shows the assumptions that many whites make about blacks:

            “Trayvon wasn’t “scared”. He was mad”

            A man is following you late at night and you believe the black guy can’t rationally be afraid. Since he’s black he’s obviously “the angry black man”.

            “He should have kept walking. He was almost at his destination.”

            It’s not that Zimmerman should not, it’s that the black guy should not.

            Even with Zimmerman’s history of domestic violence prior to the incident and his behavior after the incident, he still gets the benefit of the doubt.

            This is why blacks do and will continue to bring up all examples of this behavior. We never get the benefit of the doubt unless someone shouts at the top of their lungs “I AM A RACIST”

            Unfortunately, the ones that shout it are typically doing it when killing or attempting to kill a black person. We can’t wait for that to happen. If it’s suing cities for killing unarmed blacks by the police, forcing business to change policy to avoid a hit to their bottom line, or reporting the behavior of people who call the police because of “suspicious” behavior by blacks, we will continue to do what we need to do to stop the behavior.

            This is not some pro-black agenda. As I stated before, I go to a church with a white pastor with a white congregation. We open ourselves up to understanding the perspective of whites, but clearly a large number of whites do not reciprocate.

            “And no race has a corner on suffering. We all endure it.”

            No we really don’t!

            It is the Democrats who created the plantation, it is your choice to leave it or stay put.
            Have you ever noticed it is always you who brings up, “color,” on any of the discussions on this site? If it weren’t for that fact, how many people would even know you were black? Is there any special reason being black should be exalted over any other color? I know blacks on other sites who join in on the conversation just like any one else and are part of the group. IF, color is brought up, they say they are black for those who don’t know and no big issue is made of it. The conversation goes on. If an issue is made of it they stand their ground and others inform the new person that they can leave or join in and be part of the conversation.
            In the Christian realm blacks and whites can be friends, because the bond isn’t between skin color, it is between people who are trying to go through life peaceably with all people, like the scripture says. Those who seek to cause strife are not living by the scripture, but are causing strife because they can’t live a peaceful life.
            People outside the Christian realm can also be friends as long as one doesn’t make a big issue out of being a person with a different skin color. It is that simple.
            You like to bring up the talking points about things that happen to blacks that are always brought up first by the PC news. Because they are doing everything it takes to keep things stirred up.
            How many of those things you brought up were also done to other people who weren’t black?
            How many people were shot by blacks?
            How many were shot by other blacks? Or does that matter?
            You can reverse the list you have and find just as many of those things happening on the other side of the line but because if it doesn’t create strife it isn’t brought up.
            Lets go to the book of Revelation, chapter six. In it you will find the six seals being opened.
            The first seal is about a white horse and rider dressed in white. What is the color of the rider on the horse?
            How about the second horse, the red horse, is the riders color brought up? Again, no. but what is the problem brought up by the horse and rider? it is civil strife, civil war, civil unrest on a world wide scale. Do you see that today? You would have to be utterly blind not to see it.
            I believe that is where we are in prophecy in the world today. If you keep reading you will be able to identify many things going on that identify everything going on in the world today.
            The Lord gives us a choice to be part of the problems or part of the solutions. Stirring up the problems is not what we as Christians are supposed to be doing.
            We will be around until between the sixth and seventh seal is opened. That is when the, “rapture,” is supposed to happen. The space between the third, forth and sixth seals is a short space of time but that space is filled with much death and suffering.
            The time is short, and we don’t have the time to nit pick what color is better or deserves more or less.
            If you want to be a concerned Christian, you best be concerned about souls, not color. Because the Lord created us all for the purpose of communion with Him, not fighting about what color our skin is. Judgement by the Lord will not be about color either, it will be about what we did with our lives when we lived in our skin.

            “It is the Democrats who created the plantation, it is your choice to leave it or stay put.”

            True, but it was the republicans who
            –did nothing about it.
            –Created the southern strategy
            –Elected donald trump. A man who got the enthusiastic support of white supremacist like david duke.
            –Currently, have more racist and nazis running for office than people of color.

            If you want to find the democrats that created the plantation, we now call them republicans.

            “Have you ever noticed it is always you who brings up, “color,” on any of the discussions on this site?”

            The name of the article that we are responding to is:

            “Kanye West Threatens the Democratic Party’s Hold on Black Americans”

            Maybe you should read other articles outside of race to see what else I’ve responded to. Also, maybe you should ask Stream to stop writing about race instead of complaining about me responding to it.

            “How many of those things you brought up were also done to other people who weren’t black?”

            You tell me? I know it happens (PROOF) to blacks, can you prove that it actually happens to whites?

            “How many people were shot by blacks?”

            You tell me? How many unarmed whites have been shot by black cops?

            “How many were shot by other blacks? Or does that matter?”

            No it doesn’t matter. The police do not have a right to shoot an unarmed black man just because some unrelated black man shot another black man! A black man that kills a black man goes to prison. A cop that shoots an unarmed black man gets???

            “You can reverse the list you have and find just as many of those things happening on the other side of the line but because if it doesn’t create strife it isn’t brought up.”

            Prove it?

            “Judgement by the Lord will not be about color either, it will be about what we did with our lives when we lived in our skin.”

            –I go to a majority white church with a white pastor as do many blacks around the country. How many whites do you know that go to black churches with a black pastor?
            –I served in the military. Again majority white.
            –I went to a Predominately white college.
            –I worked in accounting and now as a consultant for a predominately white company.
            –My son goes to an HBCU. There are white students on the campus. There are plenty of white students at HBCUs. Have you ever heard of an incident occurring on an HBCU campus involving some unfair treatment of white people?

            My point is that I have been immersed in a white world. I know that very few whites are racist. But I also know that quite a few whites have no real interaction with blacks. Do you know how many times I’ve been told why don’t other blacks think/act like you? That is the white plantation mentality.

            Add in trump and articles like the one we’re responding to, you can see how easy it is for whites to look at blacks and think that the one that disagrees with them has a plantation mentality. That goes for both white liberals and white conservatives.

            “The time is short, and we don’t have the time to nit pick what color is better or deserves more or less. ”
            “Judgement by the Lord will not be about color either, it will be about what we did with our lives when we lived in our skin.”

            You know the power of the Civil Rights Movement was rooted in Christianity. The same arguments that you’re making today, trying to use the Bible to justify it, have been used against blacks and women since the founding of the country.

            Tell me, what do Conservative Christians need to do? Just wait for everyone to start thinking like they do? Everyone one should forget, the realities of their own lives? Basically, leave one plantation for another?

          • Ryan

            Was Jesus white or black?
            What kind of mentality does it create by thinking like He did?
            Did He think in terms of; White or Black? You can read from His word what He thought, and you will find no mention of race or color in His words. Isn’t that what Christians of any color should think of?
            Isn’t West allowed to think as he wants or is he only to think what the left wants him to think?
            Is race baiting in the Bible?
            Is following Christ leaving one plantation for another? or is it leaving the mentality of death for the mentality of life connected to eternity in a realm that has no hostility to one another?
            It is a choice we are freely given, to either cling to a world of hostility or cling to the unity of Christ in love for one another in Him.
            Until His kingdom comes to this planet for a thousand years we will be living on hostile ground, only in Him can we live together without hostility even though it boils all around us.
            If the choice is made spiritually, it should be lived physically, in spite of what is going on around us. Jesus did, and He said we can do the same thing through Him. That is the proof I offer, do you have better proof than that?

          • Concerned Christian

            “Was Jesus white or black? ”

            According the pictures I saw in churches and in movies, He was white! 🙂

            “What kind of mentality does it create by thinking like He did? Did He think in terms of; White or Black? You can read from His word what He thought, and you will find no mention of race or color in His words. Isn’t that what Christians of any color should think of?”

            Maybe Christians of a certain color should have thought of that when the Bible was being used as justification for slavery and Jim Crow. They can also speak up now as the Klan continues to use the Cross as a symbol of racial purity! Blacks, before, during, and after the Civil Rights movement have used the Bible to line up with what Jesus said!

            “Isn’t West allowed to think as he wants or is he only to think what the left wants him to think?”

            I could care less what kanye says or what he believes. I know smart black conservatives and I know smart black liberals. Neither of which have a plantation mentality! However, I am laughing at the idea that the guy who said “George Bush doesn’t like black people” is now a hero on the right. Kanye, along with diamond and silk, represent how blacks have not “earned the respect” of conservatives.

            “Is race baiting in the Bible?”

            Did Jews use the Bible to justify slavery and a form of Jim Crow?

            “Is following Christ leaving one plantation for another? or is it leaving the mentality of death for the mentality of life connected to eternity in a realm that has no hostility to one another?”

            Well, as far as I can tell, conservatives want to have their heaven both on earth and in heaven. They don’t seem to concerned about anyone else’s happiness on earth. Everyone else just has to wait for heaven!

            “If the choice is made spiritually, it should be lived physically, in spite of what is going on around us. Jesus did, and He said we can do the same thing through Him. That is the proof I offer, do you have better proof than that?”

            When conservatives stop their opposition to gay marriage, abortion, prayer in school, gun control, expulsion of immigrants, the banning of immigrants, then we can talk. You want to be able to control, what you feel impacts you, in a hostile world, without giving others the right to do the same. “do you have better proof than that?”

          • Ryan

            You have proven to me that you aren’t interested in having a conversation, you want to argue. I have conversations with black people I know and they aren’t interested in race or any of the things you only want to argue about. They are Christians.
            When you can show me Christ was concerned about all those things you listed from the Bible, then we can have a conversation. But you have shown you don’t care about what the Bible says, you only have an agenda to destroy the nation you think is unfair to you and the leftist ideology you believe in. Check history out and you will see that ideology has always been a losing ideology.
            Why don’t you talk to Muslims about gay marriage, abortion, prayer, gun control. You seem to think only conservatives are against it, again, show me what the Bible says about it and that it backs your beliefs. You can talk about the gay thing in a church, but have you gone into a Mosque and talked to the Muslims about it? Maybe they will listen to you and agree with you. You never know till you try it.
            A true concerned Christian can read the word of God and see where we are in prophecy today and know those things you listed are in real trouble because they are the things judgement is all about.
            Then again, you probably already know but just like to argue.

          • Concerned Christian

            “You have proven to me that you aren’t interested in having a conversation, you want to argue.”
            ====================================================
            That is the normal conclusion that conservatives come to when they attempt to convince you that you’re wrong as opposed to simply listening to your perspective.

            I’m not trying to prove you wrong, I’m giving my perspective and listening to yours. Whatever conclusion you come to, i respect. I respect “ME” so it’s very easy for me to respect YOU!.

            “I have conversations with black people I know and they aren’t interested in race or any of the things you only want to argue about. ”
            ====================================================
            I’ve done the same. Black people do not always share their feelings because they know that it makes whites feel awkward when discussing these issues. So it’s best, for the relationship, not to bring it up. I take an MMA class where I have to spend time with whites. I never talk race because it’s difficult to get into a heated discussion when you know that you’re going to be punching each other in the face. The same as with church or the military. No one wants to go to a church and cause division over race issues. You can’t do it period in the military.

            “When you can show me Christ was concerned about all those things you listed from the Bible, then we can have a conversation.”
            ====================================================
            How many whites have you seen attending black churches with black ministers? I go to a church with a white minister. Blacks are the ones that don’t see race when it comes to church. John Hagee is one of the most conservative white ministers in the country, yet he has a very large black congregation. I personally like him. In this respect we are doing exactly what we’re supposed to do. We go to any church regardless of the color of skin of the congregation or the minister.
            Is that enough to show you Christ?

            “you only have an agenda to destroy the nation you think is unfair to you and the leftist ideology you believe in.”
            ====================================================
            I served in the military just like my dad did. My mom served in a women’s Civil Service unit. They did this while living in a segregated south. I pledged my loyalty to that flag and I have paid my taxes and took advantage of the opportunities that this country has to offer. I consistently go to church and my wife runs a Christian Private school.

            “Check history out and you will see that ideology has always been a losing ideology.”
            ====================================================
            In what sense? this country is far more liberal today than it was in the 60’s when I was born. Blacks have equal rights, as do women, gays, immigrants etc. We have National Health care.

            Republicans no longer care about budget deficits or the personal character of the person running the country.

            “Why don’t you talk to Muslims about gay marriage, abortion, prayer, gun control. You seem to think only conservatives are against it,
            ====================================================
            Well I can talk to democrats who oppose them. I personally think gay marriage and abortion are sins.

            “again, show me what the Bible says about it and that it backs your beliefs.”
            ====================================================
            John 3:16 & Romans 10:9-10 makes Christianity an opt-in system. Therefore, people have a right to accept or reject Jesus, with consequences, but it is their choice.

            People will not go to hell because they were gay, or aborted a baby, they didn’t pray, or they didn’t support gun rights. They will go to hell because it was their own FREE choice to reject the offer of salvation. If God gives me choices, He certainly didn’t give me the right to deprive them of their choices! As long as it doesn’t physically infringe on me, gay marriage and abortion do not, then they are free to have whatever relationship with God that they choose to have.

            Choice is what separates Christianity from pretty much any other form of belief.

            “A true concerned Christian can read the word of God and see where we are in prophecy today and know those things you listed are in real trouble because they are the things judgement is all about. ”
            ====================================================
            By that logic why should Christian be doing anything but preaching? Why prepare for any other future if you really believe that the end times are here?

          • Ryan
