An ISIS Rival Gives the Terror Group a Taste of Its Own Medicine

By Published on July 3, 2015

Hardline Syrian rebels executed alleged Islamic State jihadis while wearing orange jumpsuits, mimicking one of the terror group’s signatures.

Jaysh al-Islam, meaning Army of Islam in Arabic, released a video of fighters summarily executing 18 purported Islamic State militants, BBC reports.

Islamic State is known for executing victims in orange jumpsuits, like Jordanian pilot Muath Kasasbeh or 21 Egyptian Christians.

But Jaysh al-Islam militants dressed in the outfit of Islamic State victims, marched jihadis dressed in black and bound in chains through the Syrian countryside before shooting them with rifles.

The rebel group released the 20-minute video on its website Tuesday, purportedly revenge for Islamic State killing three Jaysh al-Islam members, BBC reports.

Although Islamic State and Jaysh al-Islam are fighting Syrian government forces, the latter was created out of rebel factions who refused to join Islamic State, leading to clashes between the two.
