Glen Campbell’s Poignant Grammy Win for Best Country Song

Among the few hundred people who collected Grammy Awards on Sunday, there may be no more poignant story than the honor that went to veteran singer and songwriter Glen Campbell.

In awarding the Grammy for best country song to “I’m Not Gonna Miss You,” Recording Academy voters recognized the final song Campbell wrote and recorded. The song, created with collaborator Julian Raymond, that details Campbell’s determination not to give up despite the toll that Alzheimer’s disease is taking on his mind, body and ability to connect with family members and friends.
