Erick Erickson to GOP Establishment: Rally to Rubio

Erick Erickson is not endorsing Marco Rubio, but he has a message for members of the conservative establishment who don’t want to see Ted Cruz or Donald Trump become the Republican nominee — the Florida senator may be the only one capable of stopping them.

The conservative radio host shared that thought Wednesday in a post on his newly launched website, The Resurgent, carrying the headline “I’m Not Endorsing Marco Rubio, But … ”

“I am willing to give the establishment some advice. If they are that desperate to stop Cruz and Trump, they need to rally to Rubio,” he wrote.

That, he wrote, “is just reality folks,” but added, “[w]hat is also reality is that they won’t do it.”

Erickson has clashed with Trump in the past. The former editor-in-chief of RedState, Erickson disinvited the candidate from the organization’s gathering in Atlanta after Trump commented that Fox News debate co-moderator Megyn Kelly “had blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever” in an interview on CNN the day after the Aug. 6 GOP debate.
