Dallas Mayor Issues Bold Call for Prayer in ‘Homes, Offices and Schools’

By Published on July 8, 2016

Describing himself as a “man of faith,” and standing next to his chief of police who he described as a “man of faith” as well, Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings announced a prayer rally for his grieving city, and called on the nation to pray today at noon Central Time. Religious leaders and Dallas residents will be gathering at Thanks-Giving Square near the site of last night’s fatal ambush at noon (CDT) to pray. Watch his powerful call to prayer:

The inspiring press conference held by both Mayor Rawlings and Chief David Brown this morning gave courage to many to speak out on the need to pray. One such person was Amy Jayne Hawkins, who stopped her car and did a public Facebook Livestream video for members of her generation, the Millennials, to pray also and to think about how they can support the police and their families.
