Clerk Targeted by Same-Sex Couples Sues Governor

The ACLU recently filed a lawsuit on a Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis for not issuing marriage licenses because same-sex marriage violates her religious views. She refused to issue licenses and four couples sued her.

Now, Davis is suing Governor Steve Beshear.

According to the Lexington Herald-Leader, Davis filed a lawsuit against Beshear in federal district court on Tuesday. She blames the governor for instructing all 120 of the state’s county clerks to comply with the U.S. Supreme Court decision of legalizing gay marriage.
