The Clinton Foundation would have to return as much as $56 million in donations from Islamic countries that sanction abuse of women and gays, if it did as Republican nominee Donald Trump suggested Wednesday.

Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s charity has accepted between $19.3 million and $55.7 million from Muslim-dominated countries that punish same-sex relationships and squash women’s rights, according to Clinton Foundation records. Those records only list donation ranges.

Trump criticized the Clinton Foundation for accepting contributions from countries like Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and challenged the former secretary of state to, “give back the money” at their final presidential debate.

He described the foundation as “a criminal enterprise,” and said “Saudi Arabia giving $25 million, Qatar, all of these countries, you check about women and women’s race — these are people that push gays off buildings. They kill women and treat women horribly, and yet you take their money.”

Saudi Arabia donated between $10 million and $25 million, according to Clinton Foundation records. Qatar, which also imposes the death penalty for extramarital sex, gave the Clinton Foundation a $1 million check for former President Bill Clinton’s birthday.

Professing any religion other than Islam can also lead to the death penalty in many of these countries.

Both of the Clintons benefited personally and directly from radical Islamic groups in the Middle East. Former President Bill Clinton pocketed $15 million in an investment deal with the Dubai Investment Group that included as his business partner, the country’s authoritarian ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin-Rashid al-Marktoum, according to a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation.

The former president also collected $5.6 million in speaking fees from GEMS Education, the world’s largest Sharia Law education firm, according to another DCNF investigation. The company donated millions to the Clinton Foundation.

These are the known Clinton Foundation donations from intolerant Islamic countries:

• $25,000 to $50,000 from the Emirate of Ras al-Khaimah
• $50,000 to $100,000 from the Kingdom of Bahrain
• $250,000 to $500,000 from the Embassy of Algeria
• $1 million to $5 million from the United Arab Emirates
• $1 million to $5 million from Qatar
• $1 million to $5 million from Oman
• $1 million to $5 million from the Government of Brunei Darussalam
• $5 million to $10 million from the State of Kuwait
• $10 million to $25 million from Saudi Arabia

Clinton, responding to Trump’s challenge that she return the donations, said 90 percent of the Foundation’s budget goes to charitable grants. But, TheDCNF previously reported only 5.7 percent of its budget went to charitable grants in 2014, according to IRS filings.
