Boy Scouts Told: Do Not Chant, ‘Build That Wall’

Tens of thousands of patriotic Boy Scouts gave President Trump a rousing welcome to the National Scout Jamboree in West Virginia on Monday.

They shouted his name and chanted, “USA! USA!”

But the president’s speech was widely criticized by the Mainstream Media and many liberals. And faster than you could tie a slip knot, liberals compared Trump’s Boy Scout speech to a Hitler Nazi Youth speech.

“Trump Boy Scout Speech is Nazi Hitler Youth Rally, Left Says,” screamed a headline on Newsweek.com.

Critics accused the president of turning the Boy Scout event into a political rally — and they were especially upset over one particular comment. “As the Scout Law says, a scout is trustworthy, loyal. We could use some more loyalty, I will tell you that,” the president said.

That comment triggered microaggressions from coast to coast.

“The Boy Scouts must distance themselves from that offensive attempt to politicize scouting and turn them into a Trump youth organization,” whined Richard Painter, of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.

I suspect the real reason the Fake Newsers were offended had more to do with the fact that the Boy Scouts cheered President Trump and booed former President Obama — with great gusto.

And while the rank and file scouts were clearly fond of the president — the adults who run the Boy Scouts felt otherwise. They released a statement Monday night distancing themselves from the president’s remarks.

“The Boy Scouts of America is wholly non-partisan and does not promote any one position, product, service, political candidate or philosophy,” the statement read. “The invitation to visit the National Jamboree is a long-standing tradition and is in no way an endorsement of any political party or specific policies.”

What a bunch of Grade-A fertilizer.

And prior to the president’s appearance, scouts were admonished to steer clear of several chants that are popular among Trump supporters.

“This includes understanding that chants of certain phrases heard during the campaign (e.g. “build the wall,” “lock her up”) are considered divisive by many members of our audience, and may cause unnecessary friction between individuals and units,” the blog post read.

Pundits also complained about the president playing politics with the Boy Scouts — but in fairness — the far left did that to the Boy Scouts years ago — when they capitulated to the Left.

Sadly, it should not surprise anyone that BSA leadership backed away from President Trump and his message.

The Boy Scouts long ago turned its back on longstanding values for the sake of appeasing the sex and gender revolutionaries. Instead of standing rock solid on their core values, the Boy Scouts were blown away by the winds of the culture.
