Acting DNC Chair Swears Dems are Totally Unified, But Still Makes Everyone Swear Loyalty to Hillary

PHILADELPHIA — Just one day after former Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz was booed and heckled offstage while speaking to the Florida DNC, acting DNC Chair Donna Brazile insisted there isn’t a divide in the party.

During the Democratic Women’s Caucus’ event at the DNC Tuesday, Brazile asserted Democrats would get behind presumed nominee Hillary Clinton in November despite the backlash from Bernie Sanders supporters at the start of the week.

“We’re unified, ladies and gentlemen,” she told the adoring crowd.

Brazile then asked the event’s attendees to take a pledge to support Hillary Clinton as the nominee.

“I want everyone here to say I pledge to give it my all to help elect Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine, so help me, Amen,” she said, as attendees responded enthusiastically.

Dee Martin, who sits on the board of the The Feminist Majority Foundation, a Texas-based nonprofit, said she doesn’t think the party’s divide will be a problem in the general election.

“I think everyone will come together in the end, in fact something that we have been working on is an examination of the gender gap and how important that is going to be to the election, and one of the studies that we have done and polling shows that a lot more individuals, men and women are identifying as feminists,” Martin told The Daily Caller News Foundation, adding she thinks women will be the deciding factor in the election.

Sanders supporters continue to express their outrage following the leak of 20,000 DNC emails published on WikiLeaks, showing the organization conspired against Sanders during the primary process.

Brazile has since apologized to the Sanders campaign despite being implicated with the email scandal herself.
